Bengal Spice

Bengal Spice is a Bangladeshi restaurant in Holloway. The food was tasty, though portion sizes a bit small. The staff was standoffish and not very cordial, though professional enough. The ambiance inside is a bit on edge with all the tables so close to one another and fellow clientele who weren't the friendliest. Overall fine eats, but not the most comfortable environment. If you go, I hope your experience is more welcoming.

Hidden gem; found by accident, so happy we did. From the humorous service to the absolutely delicious food, we had an exceptional meal. Love that it's BYOB also!
Please don't miss this Holloway treasure; and a spice level of "5" is perfect for this gal.

This is a new-ish restaurant. It was previously known as Spices and was in Chapel Market in Angel but they moved and re-opened a few months ago.

The new location is a bit far from my current place but man it's so worth it to travel for. The food here is still *excellent*, the service is fantastic (Ali is back and still hilarious) and the ambiance is casual and friendly.

Note that it's bring your own beer/wine as they don't serve alcohol but they'll open and serve the wine for you which is nice.

I could list out specific delicious dishes but after eating there five times (four in Angel and once in Holloway) nothing here is bad.

Ordered food for delivery and overall I would rate it not bad. Bottom line is its inexpensive but felt lacking in depth of flavor and spice.

Chicken tikka masala for example was mild and very sweet, lacking rich flavors and dyed redder than a tomato. Sag paneer was again mild and fairly sweet. Naan and rice were both good

Having delivery as an option is nice but it was a bit slow. I was quoted 30-40 minutes which seemed fast but it turned out to be ~75.

Again overall not bad for some cheap take out but know what you're going in for.

One of the most amazing restaurants I've been at recently. I was here last week with a friend of mine on a dinner and it was an unforgettable experience. Food was more than fantastic, I've never though that I would like Indian food this much, especially the curry. Theres a wide variety of dishes and drinks in the menu. The staff are nice, polite and professional, serving fast and with style. The prices are really low, surprisingly, considering the high quality of the food. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who would like to spend some quality time with the family, friends or just wants to have a romantic dinner here.

We only had a couple of dishes but they were excellent. We particularly liked their butter chicken which was prepared with more traditional spices. It had a very deep flavour and was very enjoyable.

Don't order from here often but when i do i usually have the chicken dhansak and niramish - excellent can't fault it.

With some friends ordered garlic chicken, which was awesome and potatoes with tomatoes and mango powder these weren't bad but I didn't like how mango goes with potatoes just too unusual for me. Also got their type of ice-cream (pistachio flavour is my favourite). They deliver food pretty quickly and we even got free vegetable dish.

Really excellent food. I highly reccommend it.
