What a find - we stumbled upon this little restaurant for lunch while exploring the Fischmarkt and had one of the tastiest and cheapest meals of our entire trip to Europe. We had walked all the way up and down the street and hadn't seen anything exciting, so we decided to give this place - right next to the Fischmarkt bus stop - a try.

We took a seat on the patio and were helped by a very friendly server who spoke English and was happy to explain the menu for us. After consulting her we both ordered the Hamburger Pannfisch - two fillets of pan-fried fish (two kinds - whatever's fresh in that day) in a creamy mustard sauce served with Bratkartoffeln (fried potatoes) and a very nice, summery salad. It was just delicious and an awful lot of food for what we paid - just over 10 euros each including a beer for him and sparkling water for me. It was perfect for lunch after a harbour tour and before a visit to the Hamburg Museum.

If you're in Hamburg and would like to try a local, fresh fish dish without breaking the bank, this little restaurant is a must-try.
