Been to Hooks quite a number of times, love the atmosphere on the Waterfront, including under the Palms. Famous for its Seafood. It's always so fresh and served superbly. Customer service is great. Customers come first here.

The four of us came here with an Our Deal voucher which included:
4 lobster thermidors, with rice and mashed potatoes.
2 servings of chips and salad for the table
1 pint of cider or beer each.
Great meal, lobster was nice, food was plentiful. The server was attentive and friendly.
Hooks is right on the water overlooking the marina at Docklands. We paid $3 to park in the nearby parking lot.
Nice evening/restaurant, a bit quieter than the city on a Saturday night. The other food floating past us looked really nice as well. We all said we'd come back again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Chris A.Woodstock, États-Unis0826 mars 2017
Around the corner from all the busy hubbub of the conference area and situated with a decent view but the food was mediocre. I was looking for a good seafood selection but had to settle for a lobster ravioli that was just OK.

In Summer, they've introduced comfy beanbags under the palm trees. If that's not an awesome way to enjoy a beer, then I don't know what is! The selection is good too, offering some good Australian beers like Moo Brew (Pale, Dark and Belgo).
Personally, I wouldn't come here to eat. Even the aioli was terrible...but I'm fussy and am not a fan of pub food. There were other diners there that seemed quite content. The service was very average.
This place has been here for a while now and I never saw anyone there (nor was I tempted to try it) until the introduction of the beanbags. Simple things!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bruno S.San Francisco, États-Unis018 déc. 2018

I frequently travel alone for work so am always pleased to find a restaurant with a bar that welcomes single women travelers. I was in search of fish and chips and enjoyed my experience so much that I went back again the same week. The staff are friendly and chatty, beer flows freely, and the pub food is good. Spot is located just by the marina near the pedestrian bridge so is a pretty place for sitting outside and peoplewatching on the giant beanbags.

We had a lovely breakfast here under the palms (not on a beanbag, but they were all scattered about). My husband and I both had eggs with Tasmanian salmon and toast. Delicious. Pretty salty, but that's a bonus point in my book. Average service, tasty mimosa. Amazing view of the river and cyclist coming round the bend of the elbow bridge (yes I just made that up and have no idea what it's actually called).

Just moved to Yarra's Edge Docklands and loving our new local Hooks. Good food, happy atmosphere, very reasonable prices plus great views over the marina all add up to fantastic value for money. Have enjoyed lunch and dinner as well as many good cups of coffee in the past two weeks.

The beanbags and palms hooked me - the beer selection - fresh squeezed juice and quality tomato and prosciutto pizza won me over. The prices were more fair than most of the Yarra River front bar/restaurant establishments. A good place for a casual afternoon with friends when the weather is nice if looking for a fun scene minus the shouting over a large crowd.
