Two stars because of the location and the cute toiletries. The hotel itself is awful. The rooms are dirty, run-down, and extremely tiny.

I was staying at Dear Hotel down the street before coming here. Dear Hotel was wonderful, but I didn't plan ahead and they had no more rooms available for more nights - not their fault, mine.

The shower leaked everywhere and I had two use 2 towels to prevent a flood. Oh, and the air conditioning doesn't work.

Nice looking place and decent staff. AMAZING rooftop patio bar.

However, I tried two rooms but neither had working air conditioner, which was part of the reason I chose this hotel (Madrid is quite humid and hot).
The faucet in the shower would only produce burning hot water or freezing cold while no effort was attempted to fix.

      Great location but lacking staff/service

Via Vincci is located within a two minute walk to the Plaza de Espana metro off the Gran Via. The rooms are generous in size for European hotels. Inside you will find a chic hotel with modern designs. However, there was a sewage smell throughout the hotel. You couldn't smell it all the time but I noticed as we checked into our room and also up on the roof top terrace.

The roof top lounge was an unexpected bonus. It provided a place to relax and enjoy the Spanish sunset. I recommend getting a bottle of the Anna de Codorniu rosé to sip on to complete the lounge experience.

Another issue was the service there. They do not provide irons so you are stuck with using their "pressing" service. It cost as much as their laundry service. Their reason is due to insurance. This is the ONLY hotel I have been to that doesn't offer an iron. Also, there is only one person working the lounge on the first floor and the roof top terrace on the tenth floor. Expect a wait at either location.

Inside our bathroom...it has an open shower so be aware. I don't care for them because you lose all the heat from the shower. There are two sinks and the bathroom is large so you are not running into other fixtures when maneuvering around. The central air conditioning does not circulate in the bathroom.

If you are travelling with large suitcases be aware that the elevators are not in the lobby. You have to lift them about 10 steps to reach the elevators behind the reception desk.

Had an incredible stay here. Very modern and nstunning decor and design. Hope to come here again in the near future.

Definitely recommend travelers to stay in this hotel when visiting Madrid. It's located right on Gran Via so everything is within walking distance and the hotel stay feels absolutely luxurious!

This hotel is between the Callao and Plaza De Espana metro spots, so it's really easy getting around the city or making your way to and from the airport. It's a beautiful building, kind of a gothy, hipstery marble palace. It's has a really great view from it's terrace too. The rooms are a bit pokey, but comfortable enough. The staff are amazing, very knowledgeable and helpful.

The only negative on our trip was that the air conditioning broke down and we could only be moved to a smoking room.

The staff was rude, I was sent to a twin room without asking me. When approached the front desk staff there begins the "we want to milk you and take your money" attitude, I was told that they had no double room available and my booking was a twin or double and I have no right as a customer to know, before paying, the type of the room. The front desk staff then started shouting and ignoring me when I asked to talk to a manager, half-hour waiting and of course, calling booking.com to get that same response that I had to pay, then when I shouted, their manager came and was about to hit me with his assistant manager because I had to shout them out of their offices, a long discussion about how his staff are angels from the sky and they could not have shouted and then to figure out that they could have arranged those twin beds into one!!

The décor in this hotel was so nice - very gothic-like with a huge spiral staircase. Our room was a decent size (not that it really mattered since we didn't spend a lot of time there anyway!) and the bathroom had two sinks and a very deep bathtub. There were two full sized beds that we just pushed together. There is a rooftop bar with a great view over the below busy streets. Breakfast was 15 Euros per person, which I thought was really overpriced.

The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful! Our luggage was lost for about 6 days of our trip. They were kind enough to help call the airline to check up on the status of our claim while we were in Barcelona. When we finally got our luggage back, we were rushing to put together all our receipts for our claim - They helped us scan and copy all of our paperwork!

Location was great - right near the Plaza de Espana metro station, and walkable to Plaza Major, a Corte Ingles, and shopping areas. Definitely would recommend that people stay here for the convenience!

Truely one of the worst hotels I've been to. The service is horrible and the amenities is a joke. I would not recommend staying here.
