Awesome space to just sit around Karlsplatz and and do absolutely nothing...besides having some coffee and Aperol spritz ( this orange drink everyone is having, later to be understood as an Italian cocktail thats widely popular).
That to be said, I came on other occasions and the brunch they have is quite good.
They got your full on American style breakfast with skillet eggs and pancakes. With the lack of eggs on the general breakfast menu in Vienna, this is a good escape after you've had one too many pastries, salami, cold foods in the morning and need something hot off the skillet in your life.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Berke E.Vienne, Autriche84329423 nov. 2014
Well decorated cafe-restaurant. Very good location.
Almost all tables were reserved, but our waiter made some effort to find a table for us.
Interesting decoration with lots of jars and bottles on shelves. Good lighting.
Smoking section on the right side of entrance, non-smokers located on the left side. Expect some cigar odor if you seat near the entrance.
We just ordered coffee and tea. Our waiter asked for payment before we even finished our coffees, and I must admit that I found this a little awkward.
Other than that, service was quick but our table could have been cleaner.
This cafe is mainly frequented by young population.
Fairly priced joint (1 tea + 1 coffee: 5.60€).
Bottom line: a "must try"...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rory R.Vienne, Autriche2528711621 févr. 2013
Cool, hipster canteen style restaurant/bar located on the island at Karlzplatz.
Attentive staff and friendly atmosphere.
We only had a drink here and unfortunately my wife's white wine was warmish so a star lost there. Decent prices for the food and drink. The food served around us looked amazing and the portions large and hearty.
This place looks like in the summer would be chock-a-block full so I will have to investigate more and try some of their wood as the weather warms up...

This is for a drink in the summer, and a dinner inside whenever.
Ok, I heard the brunch is amazing, outside on the patio in the summer, with lots of big comfortable chairs, so I might go back and try then.
In the mean time:
Bathrooms:
Not the worst, but smells not so great, and no paper. I no likey.
Ambiance:
Pretty good. Bunch of square tables side by side, but if its not very crowded, you don't feel it. Does not sound loud, and the music is jazzy. Also, some lounge like couches on the side, but not many. Nice lighting. I have a feeling they have wifi (wlan for Austrians apparently). The colours are more pastel.
Service:
Em. Long wait. I think the guy wanted a holiday or just needed a break. He was just moving cups around, never checking on people. I like someone not checking up on me all the time, but we sat for 20 minutes really looking at him and never once did he look past the bar, at the tables.
The Drinks:
Non alcoholic: Think around 3.50 to 4 Euros. Only place in Vienna so I have seen kombucha (3.30 Euros for 0.25 L), but was not very strong. They have it flavoured, including cranberry. I took the original, and it felt almost like a soda version of it.
Alcoholic: You're going to spend 7.90 Euros for it, each one, easily. I would not say the greatest of drinks, but a few nice options in terms of taste (caipirinhas, etc).
The food:
Hamburger, 10.50 Euros and some other sandwiches. I forgot to look at the brunch menu. Main meals, about 5 options (Thai curry chicken, lamb kabob with melon and something else and gnocchi I think, risotto, chicken with mango chili I think, and some other stuff). Plate are around 10 Euros for dinner. I would say disappointing overall. First we were recommended against the lamb by the waiter (he checked with his colleague, just to check his advise, which was nice). The thai plate was underwhelming; I'm glad they told me it was curry and I've had much better rice at a cafeteria. Not great texture (but not mushy), and really bad taste (think cheap rice people buy in 50 kg bags type of stuff).
Overall: It didn't make me sick, the service was lacking, but friendly, the bathroom was less than impressive, the drinks are high end prices, the food was lacking in taste, but the ambiance was really nice.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Krisztina O.Vienne, Autriche234 janv. 2013
The place is very artsy, since you know, it is a museum, but don't let that intimidate you. The cafe is frequented by young and old, artsy or more toned down people. The atmosphere is very nice, a bit loud but the staff is very friendly. I gave it 3 stars mainly because of the uncomfortable chairs, but the coffee is very good, so if you are enjoying that, you may as well forget about the chairs.

great for breakfast and brunch, also lunch ;) during the summer when you can sit outside. large patio area, good selection of food and the quality is really good, service is usually fast with the expect ion if they are really busy. not so keen on going there when the weather isn"t sunny, don't really like the atmosphere inside, its a bit cold and I'm not a huge fan of the kind of house trend music,...
