This will be a simple, quick review.

PROS: This is probably one of the best equipped and spacious gyms I've been to anywhere in the world! Pretty damned awesome. They aren't lacking anything.

CONS: The way the equipment is arranged doesn't quite make sense compared to other gyms. The staff aren't the friendliest I've encountered. Prices are a little steep and you can only do 5 guest day passes before you HAVE to buy a membership. This is a major problem if, like me, you don't live in London but make frequent visits. For a gym this size it really needs a more adequate store/shop or at least vending machines with a much better selection of pre-workout/post-workout/protein drinks etc. Because of it's location in the Canary Wharf mall, it can be a very challenging experience getting to it during busy hours. It is also a little strange that the front of the gym opens directly into a pub/bar. Well, I guess it's great for those who like to grab a pint with some pie and chips right after a cardio session. LOL.

      - All in all, a great gym.

So, when I first joined Reebok Sports Club I was wowed by the sales pitch, it's size, the immense dirth of classes to choose from. But now, having been a member for 4 months, I am very disenchanted.

It is always busy. So, exepct equipment to be being used or broken. And the equipment is not that up-to-date. Given the membership fee I would expect more.

I had a personlised training programme drawn up which was mainly a traditional weight-training routine - yawn! That's not what works for me, I'm more a functional training kinda gal.

I've since found out that the Fitness Coaches are not allowed to draw up functional training programmes. Only the Personal Trainers can do that and that will cost you an extra £59 an hour on top of the £116 monthly membership fee!

The alternative is to go the timetabled classes. I guess that's one thing in their favour. Marie J's Intro to Pilates is great. One other thing is it's favour, the changing rooms are beautiful. But is that really important when you're wanting to stay in shape?!

Oh, if you like to use power plates you have to pay extra to use them! I have also been shouted at by a member of staff for using equipment the way I had been instructed to by a Fitness Coach.

Oh, and it doesn't help they've been doing a refurbishment for most of the summer and it's still not finished!

I gave my notice to leave the club and they tried to incentivise me to stay. They said the personal training director would contact me and try to sort a new programe for me. He didn't. I did get a card in the post offering me a 30 minute personal training session. I had my doubts about it. Normally 30 minute complimentary sessions are just Personal Trainers talking at you and then trying to get you to sign up to pay for personal training. Well, I booked a session, turned up for my appointment and waited...and waited...and waited. The personal trainer didn't turn up!

I'm leaving this club and going back to my old one, Virgin Active, West Ferry Circus. They give you 1 hour personal training sessions there as part of the membership and they're not limited to traditional training regimes. They will listen to you, find out what works for you and help you achieve your goals. You don't have to pay extra to use the powerplates. Oh and the equipment is state of the art.

I really enjoyed working out in this place and found it packed with energy. After arranging a free workout over the phone, I went to meet Kaley, who showed me around. She was really nice and quite professional. My only grip was that she didn't show me all the studios and tell me about all their classes. This gym is big and has almost everything. It has free weights, lots of machines, including some nice free motion equipment - I'd say that the cable crossover was the best that I've used. They have about 80 cardiovascular machines, a basketball/five a side football court, which is in the middle of the second and third floors. There are 6 studios in total with an extensive timetable of classes. They also have a 23-meter swimming pool and a spa.

The male changing rooms are vast and the lockers are coded like a hotel safe box - so you don't need a padlock or card. All towels are free and can be picked up in the changing rooms - I used 3 (sorry, that's really not environmentally correct!). There are plenty of showers, with adjustable temperature and shower gel and conditioner. The male locker room also houses a sauna and steam room (ladies have the same facilities). I also saw a standing tanning bed, which, I believe is free to members.

Good Points: All the equipment was to a high standard; all running machines had a touch screen TV. There were lots of mirrors, i.e. in front of the running machines and you could see a mirror from most of the other machines. At lunchtime the vibe was good, with lots of bankers running around trying to squeeze in a power work out before getting back to the office. The gym was vast and never packed.

Bad Points: Somehow the lighting in the free-weights area wasn't intense enough, but in other areas of the gym it was ok. They have carpet in various areas of the gym, including the changing rooms. Of course most people walk barefoot on it and so there is a constant smell of cheesy feet in the changing rooms.

Final Thoughts: This place is comparable to 37 degrees, it feels a bit bigger and in my opinion it's much better in every way. Kaley said that I could join for £35 and then £94.50 per month, no contract and just one month's notice to cancel. This was the corporate rate.

This gym truly has it all and having it wrapped in the most luxurious décor I have seen in a gym, this Reebox club is the best fitness centre I have ever seen.

Everything has its own space whether it is indoor golf or the power plate room. The 23m swimming pool is stunning. If cycling is your thing, they have the largest spinning room in Europe with a seventy six bike station, you may feel like you are in the Tour de France.

The weights and resistance machines are as extensive as any gym I've seen and in truth it is simpler to say this gym is the ultimate fitness centre in London. It truly has everything.

If you do need further motivation, there are one hundred and fifty classes to choose from.

As a member you are able to make the most of almost unlimited discounts and special offers from affiliated companies.

Even with a monthly fee of over £90, this gym is worth every penny.

I was really nervous about joining a gym as I'd never been to one before and didn't want to stand out as a newbie. I didn't have to worry as there's a real sense of space here so that you don't feel too close to the person next to you. The equipment is amazing, there's loads of it so I've never had to queue for anything even when it is really busy and there's even a decent sized swimming pool. Also, when I joined I had a really good induction which gave me a program totally suited to what I wanted to achieve.

As others have said this is pricey but the facilities make it worth it. Also, you can leave at any time as you're not locked into a contract, you can take a three month break if you don't fancy it for a while and they give you free guest passes.

One of the best equipped and spacious gyms I have ever been to. As what has been written already, the price is the most prohibitive bit about it (my membership is £91 a month!) but it's worth it.

All ranges of people go in here so you don't feel put out as a newbie. It can be busy yet your personal space is not encroached upon, the machines and work outs available really do the job.

I have to say I am a fan of this gym. I just signed up last week and love it, but I do have some minor problems with it. I am from Miami, FL and the gyms there have designated cleansers in multiple areas to clean the machines. I'm not saying I want to do a thorough clean of each machine, but I would like to clean the machine before and after use because sweat happens. It's just more sanitary. Also, where the heck are the water fountains? Do they have them outside the locker rooms? They may actually be there and I am just a crappy looker, but really where they at? Other than that, I really like the gym. The gym is organized and if I have any questions the staff is pretty friendly. So wooohoooo Reebok!

As most people have commented, this is a fantastically we equipped gym. Sits on the 2nd,3rd and 4th floor of Canada Place in Canary Wharf (above Waitrose home and food), with windows overlooking Canada Square so well lit.
I tend to stick to free weights, so here's a rough of inventory of what's there:
      1 x Power Rack
      1 x Squat Rack
      Olympic Platform
      Kettlebells area (with punchbag)
      Hammer Strength Deadlift/Lunge
      Hammer Strength Chest Press
      Hammer Strength Incline Chest Press
      Hammer Strength Decline Chest Press
      Hammer Strength Shoulder Press
      Hammer Strength Iso-lateral Row
.. another Hammer Strength machine for some kind of shoulder press/squat combo that I never worked out!
      Seated Calf Raise
      Standing Calf Raise
      Smith Machine
      3 x Flat Bench
      2 x Incline Bench
      1 x Decline Bench
      2 x Shoulder Press
      2 x Hyper extension bench
      2 x Cable Pulldown machine
      2 x Assisted dip/chin machine
      Dip/Chin station
      2 x Technogym Leg Extension
      2 x Technogym Leg Curl
      Technogym glute kickback
      Technogym Chest Press
      Technogym Shoulder press
      2 x Leg press machine
      2 x cable multle station
      Cable crunch station
      Hamstring extension station
      Magnum Bilateral row machine
      Magnum Lying Leg Curl
      Magnum Chest Press
      Magnum Incline Chest Press
      Magnum Leg Press
      Magnum Shoulder Press
      Magnum Tricep Extension
Abductor/adductor machines (pointles but I guess someone likes them)
      Magnum Chest/Reverse delt machine

      .. the list goes on

There's plenty of dumbbells and barbells from 2kg up to (I think) 50kg. I guess there 6-8 free standing benches around the place.

A previous review said something about having to queue to use equipment. If you have to queue at the Reebok you seriously lack imagination - there's generally at least 2 or 3 alternative stations for performing any given exercise.

The pool's good, trainers aren't too intrusive. You get to see the occasional celeb (well Graham Norton and sometimes Dizzee Rascal). Loads of cardio equipment. The only classes I tried were the ab classes which were pretty challenging.

Changing rooms are spacious and plush. You don't need to bring in a padlock for your locker; they are operated by a PIN code that you set yourself.

When I compare Reebok with the similarly priced Virgin active gyms in the City of London, Reebok comes out way on top. If I'm honest it's about the only decent thing about Canary Wharf. If I have to take a job in the wharf again, I'll be rejoining. I wish they would open a branch in the City.

I joined Reebok gym about 6 months ago. I didn't actually intend to join when I first went along as a guest but I was pretty impressed. It is really expensive I have to admit coming in at a whopping £93 a month for a peak user (off peak and weekend are less) but the gym is really well equipped and the staff are helpful, but what swung me was the fact that they do over 20 classes per day.
the pilates classes near my work cost £10 per class and I wanted to go 3 times a week to get a bit fitter so the gym actually worked out cheaper.
It is well worth if you are going to use it, they do fight - boxing etc., dance, loads of different forms of yoga, they even do a 'little black dress workout'.
They give free health checks and the sauna and steam room are good.
So pricey and if you are not going to use it, don't bother but if you are a gym bunny it's well worth it. Also it won 'Britains best gym' in Mens health mag.

Time Out calls this the most 'luxurious' gym in London and Men's Health voted it the best gym in the UK. It's not hard to see why, but you do pay for that.

I have belonged to this gym for a year and love it. There really is only one negative and that's the price. I currently pay £95 a month for my membership which is far more than any other gym charges. I go 5-7 times a week so I justify it by saying my 'per use' cost is low. ;)

It opens at 5:30 weekday mornings which is a huge plus for me and the big reason I joined it in the first place. On Saturday it's 8am and Sunday 10am. I believe they close at around 11pm during the week and 6pm on the weekend.

The facilities are fantastic. There are numerous cardio machines, boxing setup, free weights, weight machines, pool, basketball court, sauna, steam room and a rock wall. All of the equipment is in top-notch condition and there is rarely a wait to use anything. I'm probably leaving out a few bits, but you get the idea. They also offer lots of classes for members.

The members come from all walks and have all body types, so you don't need to be a hard-core gym rat to feel like you fit in.

Lockers use a key pad you program each time so you don't need to bring a lock. Towels are also provided as is the shampoo, conditioner, lotion etc. They have a shoe shine machine and ironing boards in case you have a meeting in the morning.

Really, I can't sing the praises of this gym enough. If you enjoy the gym and don't mind paying more to get more, you couldn't go wrong here.
