When I first heard about the Terminator 2 parody play, I knew I had to see it for myself.
I surprised my boo with tickets. He laughed for a good 30 seconds after I gave him the tickets.
"She's not my mom, TODD!"
My boyfriend designed a PE shirt and I was going to wear my camo jacket and ripped jeans. Though the jeans were a gift, they were an expensive pair. I thought about the super soakers and the fake blood and, at the last minute, I decided against it.
Boy am I glad I did! This was NOT the right crowd for it. First off, we were the youngest of the group. And everyone was dressed in club attire.
The waiting music were all songs that I listened to in heavy rotation during my teens. We were thoroughly geeked, singing along to Danzig and GnR.
Spoiler: the audience votes on an Arnold.
While our Arnold sounded spot on, he didn't seem to know his lines all that well? It was still a ton of fun. The T-1000 was amazingly great. I can't wait for it to come back to LA. In theory, every show should be a little different, depending on the Arnold of the night.
During the intermission, they ran an Instagram contest. I won with my Sarah Conner photo! They awarded me with an awesome shirt of the Terminator skull wearing a Dodger hat.
It was the best night ever.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jocelyn B.San Francisco, États-Unis7513113 août 2014
Terminator 2: Judgment Play
When I heard that the Point Break Live team was putting together a Terminator 2 rendition, I bought tickets IMMEDIATELY. The PBL show (review here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-dragonfly-point-break-live-los-angeles?hrid=ban-B-0lHytq7MeTuHkc3Q) is legendary, and the Judgment Play only ossified my high opinion of this gifted comedy troupe.
I saw this show at the DNA Lounge (SF) in April, and I've been cruising on the fumes of my laughter ever since. Let's take John Connor, the totally talented (and lovely) Joya who brings the perfect amount of adolescent shit-headedness to the role. She's simultaneously irreverent and endearing, and plays up everything we'd been thinking about Edward Furlong, but had never been able to express: the whiny, entitled, voice-cracking goodness.
The maid (Melanie Minichino) is sexy, authoritative, and a clever allusion to Arnold's extramarital forays. She holds the cue cards for Arnold Schwarzenegger's character: someone who is chosen, brutally and hilariously, in an audience audition that begins every show. YES, YOU CAN AUDITION TO BE ARNOLD IN T-2 TO THE DELIGHT OF YOUR FRIENDS. Please note that the competition for the leading role is fierce as it's loads of fun.
While PBL has been honed for years, T-2 is still in its infancy, and all of the props, jokes, and stage-presence were delightfully rough around the edges. I'm really excited to continue attending this show and see how it evolves in years to come. One thing is clear: this improv model is here to stay. Take a classic movie with comedic potential, a gifted team of actors, and hold audience auditions for fresh lead character every night.
Big tip of my hat to everyone involved.
WARNING: If you bring a date to this show, it's possible that a wedding proposal will shortly follow. It's that good.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - David K.Albany, États-Unis6268430 juin 2013
Do you you view baby powder as an exquisitely dramatic entrance in any situation?
Have you ever been squirted with stage blood while laughing so hard you're afraid you'll wet yourself?
Does this Saturday night include assless chaps, a sexy french maid, and Arnold?
If you answered "no" to any of those, then buy a ticket to this show. It is a moral imperative.
If you're reading this and have any reservations about whether to check it out, I am telling you: Do eet now!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Masato W.Los Angeles, États-Unis13760126 nov. 2013
"Chill out, dickwad!" If those three words mean anything to you, you will love this show. A tribute to not only an iconic movie, but an iconic actor! "Arrrrrghhh" "It's not a tumaaa!"
Very talented cast who didn't skimp on props or special effects. They cover everything from the helicopter chase scene to the molten lava. Amazing what a $28 budget can get you.

This is a must see if you're a fan of the Terminator movies. I went with a large group of friends and we had a blast. It's the movie live on stage but blended with a ton of fun 90's references. Doogie Howser and Doc from Back to The Future make appearances. Awesome!
Parking can be a little tricky so plan ahead.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Thomas C.Atlanta, États-Unis147226 oct. 2013
I went last night, Oct 5th, and we had a really great Arnold out of the crowd. Super ironic, and funny. Our Arnold was 6'4" and 110 lbs, ha! He was epic, better than the real thing.
I really, really like this group. They were hilarious in "Point Break Live" and great in "Terminator Too" too. They cast the role of John Connor & the T2000 perfectly, friggin' awesome! It really is the best show in hollywood.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kimberly J.Los Angeles, États-Unis595314 juin 2013
Good times! This is a play, but it also involves the audience a lot, so I would describe it almost like a live performance art/installation/pop culture piece. Really creative, what they did with the premise of this film. It was so great the first time that I came back and brought more friends. It's amazing to see your friends (and other peoples' friends) audition for Arnold's role.
Bring an extra $2 cashola to buy the poncho! Don't feel weird because the whole audience is wearing them, because you will NEED it. Also, don't wear your nice clothes. It gets wet in there!
If you're looking for something fun and different to do on a Saturday night, check this show out. Have a few drinks and be prepared to laugh!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Judge S.Albuquerque, États-Unis3642714 juin 2013
Saw these hooligans back when they did Point Break Live and have been twice so far to see this one, once at Los Globos and now back at the Dragonfly. Completely interactive punk rock theater, actors are fun and brilliant, bartenders are practically part of the experience, and the show was great with each Arnold I saw. What surprises me most is how willing people were to get up and audition for the Arnold role both times I went. See this show and be on the front end of what will surely be a long, wild, and successful run.
