Did a comedy course there, really nice space and at time building work was being done in part of the venue ready for it to be used as a theatre. Looking forward to when it opens as the bar area and performance space look great.

This must be in the record books for the smallest theatre in London if not the UK. The name makes you think major venue but this is small however what they do there is amazing. The space holds 30 or so people max with a theatre bar attached (the bar is bigger then the theatre). What they lack in size, they make up for in charm and once over the size of the place, it is a great space. Raked seating with soft seats, latest lighting rig, Good AV's . Good location as near transport links and super friendly bar staff and you do feel special there and seems you are part of a private club, which I hope isn't lost when more locals discover this place. The website says 'Fringe theatre as it should be' and yes this is just that.

OH MY GOD! What a find! New Cross has a secret theatre which thousands must pass every day as it is on the main A2 but how many actually know it is actually there. We heard about it from a flyer put through our door so went along to check it out and so glad we did. It is nothing like you'd expect as a new venue in New Cross, it's decor isn't trying to be student trendy or shabby chic, my boyfriend said you go from Alice through the looking glass, to Victorian palour to what looks like the Winchester Club from tv's Minder in the 1980's. That is the best I can describe the entrance and bar area also. The actual theatre is tiny but really set out well with raised seating and you really get a sense of the actors. We saw 'My Name is Calderone' which was a play about the Mafia and the production was excellent. If the decor bucks all trends, the list of productions coming up also seems to re-write the standard fayre offered by a London Fringe venue. Next week 'Club Class' a flying comedy aimed at big groups and followed by a two week production of a play performed in Russian (have they thought about this idea?) and then 'Under Milk Wood' by Dylan Thomas and mixed in with live Flamenco nights and Andi Osho.
Bar prices are really good spirits £2 and the barman works for Meantime so really knows all the beers they stock and try the Chocolate Porter, it is devine. The owner looks like a big bouncer Phil Mitchell type but is so friendly and really knows about theatre when you have a chat with him. Chances are he will come and say hello first. One oddity is that don't take debit or credit cards at the bar, but they do at the box office.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Membre Qype (amyha…)Redhill, Royaume-Uni0230 nov. 2012
Did a comedy course at this theatre with The London Comedy Course and it is a really nice place. They have a really cool roof terrace / chill out area which only performers have access to and as a student performer, got to see it.
