The best ice cream - easily in Ayrshire. Probably the biggest variety of ice cream you will ever see outside of Italy. The forum - as its locally known has a huge selection of jars of old fashioned sweets.
A visit to Kilmarnock is not complete without getting ice cream from the forum.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Membre Qype (steven…)Nottingham, Royaume-Uni347119 nov. 2008
THE place to go for your ice-cream!! Undoubtedly the best ice-cream parlour in Ayrshire if not Scotland! (even better than Nardinis of Largs!) Whenever i'm back home its one of the first places that i visit.
One thing i will say against them though is that they have stopped making porridge ice-cream!! :(
The ice-creams are all made on site to a secret recipe and some of the concoctions that they come up with are from left field!!
This is proper Italian ice cream. They sell cones, wafers and tubs, they have even been known the fill tubs that customers have brought in. I know people who make special trips to Kilmarnock just to visit this emporium for their vanilla icecream.
As well as ice cream they also sell sweets the old fashioned way!!! A quarter of Kola Cubes or Rhubarb and Custard sweets for that special ocasion or just to take to the cimema are an ideal treat. They also produce their own raspberry sauce which can be bough in a small bottle as well as drizzeled onto your icecream. If you get a tube ask for the sauce to be put in first and then the icecream!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Membre Qype (scotti…)Kilmarnock, Royaume-Uni013220 août 2011
Definately the best ice cream anywhere. We spent this summer on a hunt for the best ice cream in ayrshire and further afield visiting Glasgow,Loch Lomond and Arran too tasting their best ice creams, most of which were Bleuch!!! to be honest. The italian ice cream sold from the little kiosk on the jetty at Luss was very decent, the rest were binned before they were finished including the famous prize winning Nardinis and Mancinis. The Forum is by far the best around and their vanilla is very different to anyone elses and the favourite by far of my family.
The flavours the forum come up with are amazing,I recently tried their ginger beer and lime sorbet and it as usual was delicious and perfect.
Try their vanilla ice cream for dessert at home with a shot of drambuie or with shortbread and fruit, delicious!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Membre Qype (mitchb…)Kilmarnock, Royaume-Uni38226 sept. 2008
The best for ice cream in ayrshire.
Huge selection of different flavours all made on the premises. Also a huge selection of sweets served by the quarter.
Can get very busy at the weekend in the evening and parking can be an issue but it is worth it once you taste their goods.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Membre Qype (pipsqu…)Liverpool, Royaume-Uni3684819 nov. 2008
The forum cafe ice cream is the best I've ever tasted (including in Italy!). The vanilla ice cream is delicious, very different to the anaemic stuff you usually get. Unfortunately they discontinued my favourite flavour (blue cloud, flavoured with sambuca) several years ago now, but they still have lots of lovely and unusual flavours. Irn Bru and turkish delight are two of the more unusual flavours that I really like. They also make a parma violet flavoured ice cream that you should really only try if you're a big fan of the sweets (that gave one of my non British friends a bit of a shock!). Their chocolate flavour is amazing! You can buy the ice cream in different sized cones and tubs, and they also have a great selection of traditional confectionery.
