My go to place at the weekend for a fairly priced breakfast, brunch, lunch or tea.
The food is all sourced locally and extremely tasty, personal favourites of mine include the Local Sausage and Red Onion Marmalade Sandwich and the Oven Roasted Tomatoes and Poached Egg on Granary Toast. I have never had a better poached egg than the ones I consistently receive at Woods. Also conveniently located right next door is the Woods Produce Store, where you can purchase your own scrumptious local delights.
Now I have heard the occasional grumble that the service here is slow, and I have to admit it isn't always speedy. However I must say, I do not go to Woods for fast food, I go to enjoy a leisurely bite to eat on a weekend when I have nothing more to do than take my time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and gorgeous food.
From lights bites to full meals, cream teas to a casual beer, Woods provides it all. Indoors there are three separate dining areas, the lower bar, upper bar and the restaurant, all warm, inviting and distinct. But personally I just love spending an afternoon eating and drinking at the tables outside, weather permitting it is the perfect place to relax and take in the ambience of the infamous pantiles.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John B.Royal Tunbridge Wells, Royaume-Uni469 juill. 2016
Poor service yet again. We were told we couldn't have a speciality drink because "we're too busy".
Many uncleared tables contribute to a messy and unwelcoming atmosphere.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Membre Qype (thesus…)Crediton, Royaume-Uni522791483 juin 2010
High teas? Light luncheons? Hard to get too excited uh? The only saving grace for this joint is it's lovely interior (think grand) & it's location on The Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells' pedestrianised Georgian precinct & fair-weather tourist honey pot. I notice that Woods have opened a far more interesting local food shop next door - a sign of hope perhaps. Perfect for tea with your Maiden Aunt or when-you-can-pretend-you're-in-Tuscany-'cos-it's-sunny days.

Awful !!! I have no dea how this restaurant gets any customers. Very shabby, food is not great, and staff are so rude to customers. Even the decorating is un-proffesional. Fortunately I havae not been on the receiving end of the rudeness, learned to keep my mouth shut, but have seen them being very rude to other customers. They seriously need to up their game. I suspect they get tourists just becasue of their location. The locals don't bother !!!
