Aji Sushi Teppan

This place is just consistently delicious! I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet.

I've been sick, so I ordered sushi to take home from here. The presentation and taste is just as good in the takeout options. They packaged it so nicely with garnishes, it was like I was in the restaurant.

While I most recently ordered in, I can say from eating in the restaurant multiple times, the service is always good! This atmosphere is a bit more upscale than some sushi places. This is a sit down, nice place. You won't be scoffed at for wearing a tshirt, but you can definitely dress up and not feel overdressed.

I used to think the prices here were too expensive, but with prices rising everywhere, I'd say it's evened out quite a bit. This is the going rate for good sushi, and this place is always good!

Food was cold...at the hibachi station. This was such a bizarre experience for my family and MIL. My MIL has visited before and previously enjoyed the food, although mentioning that the service has never been quite *amazing.*

For delicious food? Mid service, no problem!

The problem is that the food was not delicious, left my partner retching in a nearby bathroom, and the service was not attentive. We experienced cold rice off the hibachi grill, old tasting noodles, burned scallops, and poorly seasoned meats :(

Pros: The restaurant is super clean. The vibe is family friendly but it can be elevated if you'd like to sit in the main dining room. Staff that interacted with us was very sweet.

Don't leave blank receipt -

Unfortunately my daughter learned a hard lesson from this restaurant - she loves the food so no complaints there. However she came home and we discussed her tipping (she did not tip very well - and we discussed that, not due to bad service but due to being 18 years old with no job. Yes, I know she should not go there then - I have worked in the service industry for a long time and we had a long talk about it) however when her bill posted the tip went from $3.00 to $13.00 (a 30% tip). I tried to dispute the charges however my daughter did not keep her receipt - in speaking with the 2 restaurant managers they could not find the paper receipt and the server claimed to not add to the tip - it's a our word vs theirs. So, chalking it up to learning a lesson the hard way - just be careful with your receipts (at any restaurant).

A quick night out with a friend of mine for some sushi let us to Aji as it was quick and easy. We arrived around 6:30 PM on a Wednesday night and found it was easier to park in the parking lot across from Havertys. We were just getting sushi so we were able to get seated right away with just a party of two.

I opted for the Philadelphia roll, which includes cream cheese, cucumber, and salmon, as well as volcano roll which is Krab, cucumber and a bunch of other stuff.

The review is based on our takeout order for 3 rolls....the Kimono Roll, the Rock & Roll, and the T-Rex Roll. The total for the above meal was $53 and the rolls are a decent size. I don't have the best experience when dining in...there is just something about the energy and service that are a little uninviting....hence the reason for takeout tonight.

The eel on my roll seemed much slimier than other restaurants and the shrimp tempura was fried extremely hard to the point where it was merely the breading only in some pieces. I would love to see this restaurant succeed in winter garden village. Not sure I will be back anytime soon, but if you've never tried it, I encourage you to do so to form your own opinion. Everyone'palate is different

Food is fantastic and the experience for teppan is so much better than Kobe. Service and quality is superb on the sushi side.

I called ahead for a Sunday reservation at 7pm, and when we arrived 5 minutes early, our table was promptly ready. The smell of sizzling butter and garlic on the hibachi stovetop welcomed us as we walked towards our table. The kids were thrilled as they always enjoy hibachi.

The hibachi menu was typical, offering the usual choices. Everyone at our table ordered Sirloin Steak, while I opted for Salmon. All the dishes were cooked to perfection. However, coming from the North East, we were accustomed to egg noodles (lo mein noodles), and the linguine-style noodles they served were not to our liking.

I also tried the spicy salmon, but I wasn't thrilled about it. Traditionally, spicy salmon rolls are cut into small pieces and no cucumbers.

Our chef, though quiet, was friendly and skilled. Overall, it was a good experience, and we would likely return for another visit.

The environment is beautiful, staff were friendly.
Food is a little expensive, and the flavor not that good.
Drink was good though.

I ordered sushi from Uber eats and it was highly disappointing. The fish did not taste fresh and the rolls have way too much rice. For $15+ per specialty rolls, I was expecting much better quality. The rice on the rolls was a gummy texture too which was awful on the palate. I've always drove by this place and thought it looked good. Now I can continue to drive by and know that it is not worth the stop.
