Really gross location. Quite a few of the display frames have cracked and broken lenses, and all of the shelves are completely coated with dust.

The waiting area was just a cluster of uncomfortable chairs, and the entire place smelled of excrement. When I tried to finish up I was told that their card reader was broken.

I don't think they ever clean.

Haven't gotten my glasses yet but had my exam and picked out new frames today. I have horrible anxiety when dealing with anything medical and I was so impressed with my experience with America's Best. Dr. Torres is amazing as well as all the staff we interacted with. Very fast, efficient, and a very chill and welcoming vibe that I really appreciated. Scheduling was a breeze online, and even without insurance it was about $260 for the exam, new rx for lenses, and I can't wait to get my new pairs of eyeglasses and (A FIRST FOR ME), rx sunglasses! Strongly recommend anyone needing glasses or contacts to consider America's Best!

I've dubbed them America's Worst. Several years ago, I swallowed their hook & got two pairs for the advertised price. Script is all wrong. I'm in 2 pairs instead of one. Tried to tell them I needed one pair & I could not be in bifocals, lined or otherwise because I get sea sick but they wouldn't listen. Tried to get it all fixed within their time frame but they said I'd have to pay again. I just left.
Frames constantly pull my hair & first time I cleaned the lenses, the left one fell out & the screws were all tight. Tried to go to another place to see if they could rescue me. They had in the past, advised that America's Worst has ruined my eye sight & the ignorant ophthalmologist had nerve to defend America's Worst & after a week of being sea sick because the other place insisted on no lines & refused to listen, I took those glasses back too.
If I could have afforded an attorney, I would have sued America's Worst but alas, I could not. I just tell everyone my story when they ask for advice.
Oh & P.S Was at the Grotto this past Friday, tried wiping the rain & fog from my glasses & both lenses came out & the screws were still tight. Sad I even have to give one star because even that is too generous to the nightmare I've endured

Worst customer service. No one greeted me when I walked in. No one wanted to help me. I walked around for 10 min with no "hi,how can I help you". Worst experience ever!!!

Unbelievably bad service. They promise to call you when your contacts are in and never do. I waited over a month for a set of trials (I had to call to see if they had come in) just to drive all they way to the store to find out they had ordered the wrong ones. This happened twice! I had to wait again for 3 weeks for the correct ones. They promised to have them rushed and would call as soon as they came , and once again did not call. I had to call them to ask if they were in. I finally have the correct lenses and they said they would either fax my prescription or the new Dr would call me. I waited a week, and of course no call or fax! I have already had 2 Dr follow ups and now they won't give me my prescription without yet another follow up. This has been going on for 4 months. I would NOT recommend this location and I if I could give 0 stars I would.

Love the business, hate this location.

I've been going to America's best since at least 2007. I have been to three different locations (Sunset, Hall and Vancouver) and this is the only one where I have any complaints. I'm pretty sure it's an office manager issue but who knows, maybe it's the front desk employees? For one, I think it's a pain to have to give them your insurance information every time you go in, even if it's only a week or two apart. This information should (and as I found out, actually IS) saved in the patient's file. If you've been seen recently, they should just be able to ask if the insurance had changed and if not, verify eligibility and benefits with the existing information. This may seem small but it feeds into my main complaint, which is coming up.

I went in on 7/15 for a routine eye exam. My insurance hadn't changed since the last time I was in but I didn't have a huge issue with giving them my info again since it had been over a year since I was seen. I had my exam (which was great!) and then went to order contacts. As it would turn out, the contacts I have been wearing for the last two years had been discontinued so I was given a trial pair of a new type of lens to try. I have changed lenses probably four times in the last decade and it's always been easy: I try the lenses out for a week or so and then call in to order a couple boxes if they work out. I had no reason to think this wouldn't be the case and the guy who helped me check out confirmed that my prescription was finalized and I could just call to order when I was ready. I called on 7/26 to order, spoke with someone at the front desk and she confirmed that my prescription was finalized but said I had to come in to order the contacts in person because I was billing insurance. I told her I provided all my insurance information at the previous visit 11 days earlier and she said they don't keep that on file and they need me to sign something to place my order. I asked if the form could be emailed to me to fill out and return and she said they couldn't email. I find this odd since I received an email prior to my appointment on 7/15 asking me to complete all of my paperwork before my exam and I completed and submit all of that online. She said there was absolutely no way I could order contacts over the phone, even though I have done this MULTIPLE times ALL while billing insurance. Now, I had kind of a difficult situation here because I started a new job and am in training all week and won't be able to make it in. I am really wanting to bill my existing insurance which ends on 7/31 so that I don't lose out on my annual contact allowance. My next day off isn't until 8/1. You see where I am going with this? I had no way to go into the office to order contacts with my current insurance without it affecting my new job.

I got off the phone pretty stressed and a bit heated but I decided to call the Hall location and they thankfully saved the day. Even though I haven't been there since 2011, they pulled up my account, SAW MY INSURANCE ON FILE, verified my benefits and ordered my contacts delivered to my house! No fighting, no "we can't do that", I didn't even need to tell my sob story about needing the contacts ordered before the end of the month. I simply called and asked to order contacts and she did it. Even though it's a bit further of a drive for me, I will be going to the Hall location going forward.

I am giving two stars instead of one because the person who did my eye exam (Corry Scott) was great!

I'm so thankful for the people there and the service . I won't forget, all the help . I take my Mom there for a new glasses ( she is 92years)
They did all the exams then they found something wrong. Right away the Dr. told me to take it to an ophthalmologist. They did not charge me anything and on top of that , he call the other Dr. and when they got everything set up , call me home and tell me where to take it.
( if this is Not a outstanding job , I don't know what is ) forever grateful!!!

I thought that with the new manager things would go smoother but it's still been a lack of service due to the bad communication that takes place here. Communication is everything in running a business properly. I was told my contacts were going to my address without even being asked. Then I asked which address. I was told to my PO Box after they checked the computer. I would have rather picked up in store but they didn't give me that option. Then, I got an automated call that my contacts were ready for pick up so when I went to my post office on the day of my travels on the way to the airport, I quickly stopped by my post office only to find NO CONTACTS there. This was extremely frustrating for me and my boyfriend who drove me.
I called them and Aimee told me that it was the samples that the automated call was referring to. The automated call didn't specify that. And not only that but I never recieved any contacts at my postal box because they don't deliver there. I get all my packages there. But for some reason they don't deliver there. So now my contacts were delivered to the store. What a huge miscommunication and lack of knowledge on their own policies.

No one at the front desk to help out

it's hard to come by customer service this horrific. The kind that makes your blood boil. It was surreal the way every single person working there made you feel like scum of the earth. Clearly a reflection of the owner who allows this trashy behavior to happen. Lost my business and im making sure this a public service announcement to my friends and family.

I am so thankful for the staff at America's Best in Hillsboro. I had an eye exam & ordered two pairs of glasses, one bifocal pair & one with progressive lenses. I was very satisfied with my visit. Since it was 45 minutes from my house, my boyfriend was easily able to pick up my glasses a week earlier than projected.

I'm a tax preparer & incredibly busy this time of year. I needed to change my prescription with one of the pairs. It was 6:40 pm on a Monday, 20 minutes before closing, and there were 6 people ahead of me. Riley & Marisol stayed late, after the store closed to help get me exactly what I needed. They were both sweet, & paitent. I am so thankful. I would not have been able to make it back to the store for weeks. They could have turned me away & I am forever impressed with their professionalism. Thank you again ladies!
