Chanel - New York Madison Avenue

I made a reservation online at 11am. Arrived the store on time and it was pretty quiet. I was serviced by a FA who was kind enough to understand what I am looking for and showed me a couple of bags. I was lucky enough to find the bag that I like! He even let me take pictures at the store. I guess America has a different policy, where as in France you will get yelled at for taking pictures. The service was not an above and beyond, but it is much more pleasant then my visit to Chanel in Paris. I left happy with a new bag :)

The variety was great and I loved the assistance that I received from the sales associates there. I believe this one is a bigger store so lots of options and unique finds at this boutique

Appointments required due to COVID!!

I thankfully played it safe and made an appointment the night before I actually planned on going. Thank goodness I did because appointments are required. The people guarding the entrance have a list of names and time slots sitting right in front of them.

I came to Chanel looking specifically for a full-grain leather black wallet-on-chain (WOC). The lady helping me was polite and friendly. When I asked, she gave me suggestions for similarly sized bags that were also offered in full-grain leather. She also asked if I was interested in purchasing any other accessories. She didn't try persuading me when I said I was just looking to purchase a WOC. I do appreciate her not nagging me to buy more.

At that time, this location of Chanel only had two more black wallet-on-chains. I was lucky to have been able to grab the last black one with a gold Chanel logo.

I'm ecstatic with my purchase, and I don't think I could ever get tired of watching the Chanel workers meticulously packaging purchases in such a beautiful manner.

I had mixed experiences at Chanel. Ultimately they left their manners (on the clothing store side) elsewhere.

The Good: After taking a few items to the Chanel jewelry store because one of the rings I have from them the stone fell. They provided great service, pulled up my account and told me all of the information about each piece. The ring that needed a new stone was sent to europe and within two months it was fixed at no charge. New paperwork with current valuation was also provided for my items.

The BAD: Clothing/accessories store- I have a Classic Flap in white, and in three years the bag was yellow. I had never washed it, or used it- it was a gift and was kept boxed bc I forgot about it. when I took it to the store on madison, I was received like i was not worthy of being there. Yes I was coming from the gym, but thats no excuse to treat a client who has or could drop any cent there.
the result- sorry we cant help you. they did not check my information, didn't bother to look for a solution. simply no, we cant help you unless you buy a new one- to which I said why? in two to three years I dont want to have this discussion again... long story short, I left annoyed.

When I took it to the jewelry I mentioned the incident. The Lady called the store manager and after they spoke I was offered 1000 dollars in store credit towards a new item.

My white bag I decided to paint and restore. Since Chanel was unkind, I sold, gave away and stopped using all clothing items. Jewels I still use and love.

I lost my interest for Chanel, they left their manners in France (coming from someone who has over 10 bags, jewelry , clothes... over 20 years as a client.

Time to say goodbye, clear the old so the new energy can come in! In a couple years I will be back and see how they are doing.

I do love their flats, but I disposed of the ones I had and am in search for a new brand that gives me a better experience when shopping.

Great experience at the boutique and so much better than the Hermes across the street where manners are a foreign concept. I made an appt and Fayyaz was my SA. He was very personable and patient and showed me a ton of new selections for flats. When I was leaving after my purchase I went outside to wait and no more than minute later, one of the security guards came out to check on me and asked if I was still ok and if my Uber was arriving soon. That has never happened before at any store and I really appreciate the courtesy.

Perfect boutique, the AM Kristine is wonderful. She was pretty, kind, and treated me very nice.

Smaller selections than their sister store on 57th, but nice and beautiful here.

They practice all safety, temperature check, hand sanitizer and limited capacity, as well as by appointment. I made the reservation 3 days in advance before my visiting to NYC.

They were confused about the policy of quarantine but I showed them my note from JFK airport, I'm not subjected to quarantine and it was a smooth visit afterward. I do appreciate it.

I'll definitely come back on my next visit to NYC. Kristine helped me with a beautiful pairs of earrings. Thank you.

This store is still appointments only. I came here last week with a friend who was looking to purchase the same coin wallet I have. From the entrance to browsing around the store, we were greeted. We had a 10 am appointment on Saturday and it felt like a private shopping experience. Unfortunately, they didn't have the color my friend wanted but the lady placed an order for my friend and it came 1 week later. I asked to look at the spring/summer collection since I saw some bags from the new collection that peeks my interest but it didn't arrive yet. The SA told me that new collection comes in during mid March. I guess I'll be coming back soon. Hopefully they'll also have more espadrilles to look at. FYI, this is the only location my husband prefer to shop at since he feels no judgement from the staffs here. (Husband also dressed in sweats when he shops here with his hollister outfit.)

The best customer service.

This place only takes appointments. But since I arrived when they opened, the security asked if I had an appointment. Regardless, he asked one of the ladies inside to help me. They were all courteous and helpful. Unfortunately, I didn't find the shoes I was looking for but they referred me to their other store on 57th Street.

I've been searching for a glass or cleared Chanel cuff for over an year. From calling different stores in New York, DC or VA or for whenever, I'm traveling to Miami or Seattle. One day, I called this store and Andrea answered the phone. She was so nice and quick to answer my questions and I had many (LOL). To my surprise the store had one, glass or cleared Chanel Cuff.

Andrea also sent me several pictures of other items, I was looking for.

The Customer Service at this store is much better than the Flag ship store down the street. I called this one, 5 minutes before and was placed on hold only to be told, someone would call me back.
