The food is as always, delicious because all fast food is. Service was good, however...weird experience in the drive-thru.
I experienced what can only be described as aggressive tip soliciting. It honestly has me perplexed because who in the heck tips fast food in the drive-thru?? I wasn't waited on in a sit down restaurant, I wasn't served at a table. I was in the freaking drive-thru of an assembly-line fast food chain store!
In what world is it appropriate for the cashier to be asking for tips at a DQ in the drive-thru on an order under $10 when they only thing they did was the basic functions of their job?
And it wasn't just that a tip was asked for, it was asked for in a very direct manner, like the cashier assumed I'd roll over and add a tip. "It'll be $7.10...unless you want to add a tip?" And then the cashier just eyeballed me daring me to say no. And the little shock of surprise when I had the audacity to actually say, "Sorry, not today."
It felt expected and not a little confrontational.
DQ River Road, are you underpaying your crew? If you're trying to drive away customers, congratulations...I'm gone.
04AUG2023 ETA: Dear DQ - I saw your request for me to contact you and I did go to your contact page. You ask for some pretty specific and personal details that I don't feel comfortable sharing. Why do you need my personal street address or my actual phone number? I see a lot of single stars in comments, so it doesn't look like DQ needs my opinion to improve.
But, I'll go ahead anyway... Me and two friends drove a significant distance to enjoy some DQ ice cream last Friday evening. We were greeted by a locked lobby and sign stating it closed at 9:00 pm due to staffing.
The drive through was really full, so maybe DQ isn't losing money by closing the lobby, but they lost our business in the future.
To top it off the three items we received were miniature sizes at premium prices. The banana split barely had 1/3 of a banana and hardly any ice cream. The Peanut Buster Parfait has shrunk to a child's size, with a price approaching $6.00.

The blond working there was very rude when we went back and told them we were missing a burger, they seemed very scattered and just flat out rude. Pretty disappointed in the service she could have just been polite.

I'm used to getting really good food from other Dairy Queen's but this one was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the chicken strip basket and it all tasted old and wasn't hot.

Went through the drive through today and two out of the five employees near the drive through window were not wearing masks, including the man serving us. For young children and adults who are unable to get the vaccine, this seems unnecessarily reckless. I won't be back anytime soon if at all.

The people there are very rude and supposedly you can't get a refund or your order fixed without bringing in the blizzards. Went there last night and my order was completely messed up no one got what they ordered.

I went for lunch today and no employees were wearing masks. I understand the new CDC guidelines but this seems very dangerous and harmful to non vaccinated patrons.

I am not sure who the owner of this Dairy Queen is but I hope you see this comment. Today 08-30-2020 the girl who was there at 2:pm and called herself the manager was completely out of line. I went through the drive through and ordered. The person was asking me multiple questions and did not give me a chance to alter my order. So I said can I say something please. When we got to the window to pay the "manager" came up to the window and proceeded to tell me I was rude for asking to say something while my order was being taken. My girlfriend was in the car with me and she couldn't believe that the girl said that about what I did. I was not rude by any means and did ask politely. I have worked in customer service for more than 16 years and if I were to say the things that the manger said to me and in the tone it was said I would have been fired.

Today 03/30/2020 at aprox 3:45pm I visited the 706 E 13th Avenue location in Eugene OR.
My blizzard order had been made incorrectly, and upon reaching the window to get my correct order the young man said he would be needing the incorrect blizzard back in order to give me my proper one.
Im sorry, what? Ive been a kitchen manager for 4 years and Ive never heard something more thoughtless and unsanitary.
We are currently in a world wide pandemic, and all of Eugene is under quarantine with the exception of 'essential' workers.
Workers like the young man you just took my germs all the way into that restaurant.
To be perfectly clear: I had taken bites, I had licked the top of the icecream. My germs were there. And I made this perfectly clear to the young man, as well as the manager I spoke too.
Said manager advised that they were 'disposing' of the incorrect item.
A.K.A. Throwing it in the trash right there in the front of house where they make the blizzards.I watched him do it. Im also not sure if a proper handwash happened.
I imparted on the manager how dangerous this situation is, and how uncomfortable I felt being a contributing party too it. She was only concerned with giving me the correct oder.

First time back here in a few years, but let me tell you - I've never felt so respected in my entire life. Not only did they have all the cars cleared out of the drive-thru upon our arrival, but they got the order exactly right. They even offered us spoons for our blizzards.
I don't know what these other commenters are talking about, but this was probably, most likely, hands down the best dining experience we have ever had in our entire lives. They can literally do no wrong.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
