Half Shell Oyster House

This restaurant has GOT TO BE the BEST in BILOXI!! We visited Friday night, 7:00pm, ready to wait for a table, then the WOW Factor hit --- music to my ears: Right this way sir. We were at the host stand for about 30s, greeted then seated. About 2m later, our server (Haley) greeted us and instantly warmed our table with her smile and demeanor. Having genuine friendly people on staff IMHO is how businesses are guaranteed to have me return and let my friends know the wheres and whats. Then, OMG, the food... ah, the food... our appetizers (Royal Reds, and the Sushi Sampler) arrived, well presented, well accoutrement-ed, and soooo full of flavor. I can't say enough good things about the Royal Reds... GET THEM! So tender, so delicious, so worth the air flight to get here. Our entrees were just as awesome:
Royal Redfish
Bronzed redfish served over a bed of grilled asparagus and Cajun boiled potato cake, topped with Royal Red shrimp sautéed in a white wine cream sauce.

Redfish Orleans
Blackened redfish topped with Gulf shrimp sautéed in our original New Orleans style smoky Cajun sauce. Topped with lump crabmeat and Parmesan cheese.

A special shout out to another awesome staffer: the MGR on duty (Christa). When we were asked about the meal, we expected what everybody else expects: how was this-that-n-the-other... Not with her. Her table visit felt very sincere and heart-felt table love.

HSOH = absolute awesomeness. Well worth visiting when in Biloxi.

I didn't realize this was in the Hard Rock Cafe casino, otherwise I would have probably went to their other location across the street since I'm not crazy about gambling. I'm glad I did however, because I ended up getting some souvenirs for my family back home in Southern California. It was a Friday night here, so it was busy for the bar where I decided to sit. I had some local draft beers and the Seafood Gumbo which was good. I also got the Oyster Sampler that comes with a combination of all grilled versions of their oysters. In general, it was all good but a couple of the oysters ended up being dry and overcooked. If you're in this casino, I suggest you have a meal here before you run out of money from gambling; or maybe celebrate here if you hit it big.

This is our first time in Biloxi and Thai (our server) made it memorable. She is an excellent server who loves her customers and the food ain't bad either. I had the Royal Reds with the New Orleans butter and it was outstanding. When they say it tastes just like lobster they are not exaggerating. If I could, I would rate this place a 10,

OMG, this place is phenomenal! Always excellent service and fantastic food. We go here every year for my birthday and occasionally during the year too, I wish we can go more often but life is busy. I love this place and we bring family and friends here always and they all enjoy every bit of this restaurant. The oyster Rockefeller Adeline's treat. The red shrimp are huge, and delicious. Just can't say enough about this grand place. Thank you Annie E.

Everything on menu is great. The best charbroiled oysters (New Orleans Style)
Shrimp and grits good. Grilled fish, Poboy's all good. Great Bloody Mary's.

Food was awesome. Had the big easy sushi. Best sushi I had ever! The only upsetting thing was that we ordered the oysters and the ice was melted and the water was getting into the oysters.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to. The Red fish is delicious. This was our 3 time dining at half shelf & each time was memorable. It's about an hour 1/2 drive from us. We will take the ride each time.

While on the Coast last weekend, I picked this location of Half Shell Oyster House (there are others) for dinner. Initially, I didn't realize that it was located inside The Hard Rock Casino thinking it was a stand alone restaurant. It was a Saturday night and I didn't have reservations but was immediately seated.

My order was for the seafood pot pie with a side dish of cheese grits for $23. I added a side portion of the half Shell Salad for another $6.50.

The salad arrived first and was very good tasting with romaine and spring lettuce, goat cheese, almond slices, tomatoes and carrots. The dressing was a balsamic vinaigrette and I thought it was a quality salad. The entree arrived about 20 minutes later. It had shrimp, crawfish and crabmeat with veggies like corn, peas and carrots that was in a bowl that had a golden crust on top. This also was a good tasting dish that had plenty of flavor along with plenty of seafood inside.

My meal here was very good and better than I expected. Half Shell is a good choice for a meal while visiting The Hard Rock.
