Awesome place to come and relax. A number of bars and restaurants with a variety of food. I have always been a fan of the McMenamins hotels and bars and this place is one of my favorites. Plenty to explore and keep you busy while relaxing or chasing your passport stamps.
PS. There are a few hidden places here too!
Enjoy!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris C.Longview, États-Unis43271216 mars 2024
My wife and I love coming here at least annually to celebrate birthdays. The grounds are wonderful and the outdoor hot soaking pool is great for relaxing. Also the breakfast room service is great, literally 15 minutes from order to your room door every time!

Attended a concert at this location for the first time, GA was ok. It's a smaller place for a concert than Edgefield, where I've been numerous times. The employees were helpful & pleasant. The band was great! The food was just ok: I had the Sunset bowl, which included hulihuli chicken, a scoop of rice, a serving of Mac salad & a Hawaiian bread roll. For the price of $17, mmmm- just ok. Long lines for everything except water & porta-potties.

What a absolutely beautiful place. Amazing ambiance has so many small nooks and crannies where they have places like a fireplace or a bar. Would love to stay here one day
Staff was incredible, so friendly, and professionalHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 7 juill. 2023
Yes, McMenamins food and beer are not so great and overpriced for usually lackluster service - BUT - the venues are amazing and Grand Lodge is no exception. This was my first time staying at a McMenamins hotel and it was fun.
I had been expecting the place to be packed on a Friday night but it was surprisingly quiet - even the staff mentioned they were wondering where the crowds were - but lucky for us that meant a quieter stay and more room to roam. We had a blast wandering the halls and taking in the artwork. We saw a movie - fun - service was quite slow even in getting drinks but that's what you expect from McMenamins!
During our time here, we got to explore all three floors, most of the grounds and all of the little bars scattered throughout. The soaking pool was great - filled with some rather tipsy folks at night - but it was serene in the morning and very empty.
Room-wise we opted for a king with a private bath. Our room was on the second floor and fairly quiet. The bathroom was very spacious. Our only complaint really is that the shower booth just had a really short curtain and a low divider between the shower and rest of bathroom so water was splashing everywhere. I'd opt for the private bath again just out of preference.
Staff were super friendly - one kind person helped us find the secret room and staircase without even us having to ask. Overall we had a great stay - I'd do again but maybe for two nights to enjoy everything longer!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 9 mai 2023
Spent an evening at Grand Lodge and it was nice and relaxing! We stayed in a basement room which was intentional because it was one of the last rooms available. Definitely avoid this basement room if you're a light sleeper or don't like the sound of plumbing/water running etc. If you don't already know, they don't have AC at McMenamins hotels (the older ones anyway!) So if it's a hot weekend, prepare yourself. I do wish we had a box fan in the room because it was super stuffy in the room.
The soaking pool is a lot smaller compared to Edgefield but it did the job and was nice! There is no bar outside - it's a long walk around to the inside to get a drink if you want one. Also unlike Edgefield, kids are allowed all night at this soaking pool. That's fine, but it's nice when minors aren't allowed past 8PM etc. it's a bit quieter.
Plenty of places to eat and neat bars with good bartenders. Mcmenamins is known for having terrible food and service but it seems like they've stepped their game up lately.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Darron N.Maricopa, États-Unis712592613 nov. 2023Avis mis à jour
What a fun hotel to stay, great soaking pool and the rooms are clean and fresh. Wonderful beers and the coffee is delicious.

I am just sick of this place, every food product tastes like if came out of the same deep fryer! Bottom line..... the food is not good. The help went from slow hippies to 20 somethings and the service is poor at best. If your going to go to this place enjoy the good beer for what is is and have 4 or 5 pints before eating, it may help!

If you're going for happy hour, there's a happy hour menu for the main restaurant but they don't offer happy hour, sent to the doctors office, they don't carry cider, went to Bob's and the kegs were empty, back up stairs and got marionberry cider. The three sliders were $9.75 small without sauce, sweet potato fries weren't available on the happy hour menu, $12.00. So, the slow service was expected, running around the building for a cider was a surprise. I got my steps...so that's good.

DISCLAIMER: local food expert
Mcmenamins grand lodge is good. That's all
It's the place the be if you want a lot of options and to hangout and do whatever. You have a few different bars, great atmosphere, and typically a cool busy environment that forest grove needs.
I'm a local food expert and the food was okay. I really enjoyed the Cajun tots as they are a comfort classics.
The burger was good. It is so easy to expect more from it with the price and location.
The burger should be something to look forward to for the ironworks grill. Especially the most expensive burger in the menu. It seemed just ok.
The beer here is good though, my ruby is a staple I get to look forward to.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1
