Not my usual sushi spot in Gilroy, but we noticed the remodel and effort to attract customers, so we decided to try it.
At first we thought the ordering system was a little odd, no waiter, just fill out an order card.
The staff is friendly, a bit of a language barrier but they still get through with GREAT service.
The miso soup has a ton of flavor and the rolls we got were good. (Mango paradise, lion king)
The poke nachos have a little improvements to work out, such as maybe changing from corn chips to wontons.
Sapporo was cold, staff was friendly and food was good! Definitely will be back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rosa D.Hollister, États-Unis27589820 mars 2019
This is one of my families sushi go-to places in Gilroy. Sushi/food is fresh, place is clean, and customer service is alright.
When you first walk in, don't expect to be seated. The older lady will ask you to fill out your order form and bring it to the front...and if it's hour first time, just grab an empty table and browse the menu. Same goes your ordering a drink, just walk up to the fridge across their checkout and grab your drink of preference.
Our usual rolls are the Lion King, Walnut, Ana stupid rolls. Always taste fresh and yummy!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Allison F.San Jose, États-Unis2682810 janv. 2019
Wait, a poke place in Gilroy?
And it's delicious? Thank-you Pearl Sushi Lovers!
Today for lunch I had a monster poke bowl with 5 scoops of shrimp, served over lettuce, onions, and cucumber. Topped with seaweed salad, avocado and crab with spicy mayo, sweet sauce, sesame seeds and ginger.
I'll definitely be returning and soon!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nate P.San Jose, États-Unis11984216 nov. 2019
We came here to order a couple of poke bowls thinking how bad can it be. Well it was a very bad. The twin older ladies took over 30minutes preparing it while using weird tasting ingredients. It wasn't fresh tasting and the only sauce that I tasted was soy sauce. They're very stingy too.
I think it's time to retire ladies because you make poke bowl places look bad and taste bad.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brendan D.Cupertino, États-Unis13387143 oct. 2019
My wife and I were traveling down 101 on our way to Santa Barbara, stuck in less than 5 mph traffic - at least when it moved. I was getting a little agitated, so my wife suggested we pull over and get some dinner and let the traffic clear up. I'm so glad we did, otherwise, we wouldn't have found this place! It's wonderful!
Run by a cute, elderly couple they churn out some pretty good sushi and poke. Mind you, this is not your typical sushi place. They have no nigiri. They only serve rolls and poke, though they do have the standard appetizers like gyoza, edamame, and miso soup. If you're looking for more traditional sushi, this isn't your place. But what they do offer, they do it excellently.
Knowing that we'd be on the road for several hours, I ordered the Monster Poke Bowl that comes with 5 scoops of fish. Ordering it was a little overwhelming because they have TONS of topping and sauce options. But to me, that was awesome because I could dial in exactly the flavors that I wanted.
My wife ordered a couple of rolls (cucumber and California) and both were excellent. It's hard to get the standards wrong. But what we did notice is that the portion sizes of the rolls were pretty big compared to other sushi places. When the California roll came out, my wife remarked that it was a lot more than what she was used to.
As far as service was concerned, I thought it was great. Yes, the lady is direct, but she was the only server on the floor and my wife and I both thought that considering that, she did a great job. Although having worked in restaurants in the past, they could use a crash course in service efficiency. It would make their jobs much easier.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience for us. We made a note to keep this place in mind if we're driving south and wanted to get a good bit to eat.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Terri M.Gilroy, États-Unis621179413510 oct. 2019
I called for a togo order for "who's your daddy" roll for $16.95, kind of pricey but it was a really good flavor. I would get it again. Something odd was there was plastic wrap through the roll which I figure the imitation crab meat was in and she didn't cut it right or something. But it was worth picking it out, lol. We also got plain rice $2 and a side of edamame for $4. The prices seemed a little high, but the food was good. We didnt get much edamame for the money. At Costco we get about 10 times as much for $7.

Mediocre at best. Wish this was better! So close to my house. Also there was one other couple in the place at the same time as us and it took forever to get our food. And then she forgot about half our order. Will try somewhere else next time

This place was awesome! I was passing south on my way back to Colorado and was really craving some sushi before leaving the coast. This was some of the best and freshest sushi I've had. Add a couple sweet old women running the place, a great decor from the recent remodel, and reasonable prices and its a place to check out.
Note, their maintenance (or knowledge of how to) of this listing is low to non - existent. If I would have checked yelp before coming here I wouldn't have because it said they were closed. They obviously were not.
So, swing by and enjoy some wonderful sushi and a delightful environment. You won't be disappointed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - carissa p.Sacramento, États-Unis8499023131 déc. 2018
We came on New Years Eve and were the only people in the restaurant, so it was quite surprising how long it actually took to get our sushi. None the less the staff was very friendly, and helped walk us through the menu and how to order. You fill out your own order essentially, which makes customizing things a bit tricky, but we decided on a few baked rolls and fresh ones as well. I very much preferred the raw rolls, the baked and fried rolls lose so much of the fish you want when you order sushi. The stupid roll and Alaska roll were full of salmon and tempura shrimp, but the sauces were too much for me. I preferred the spicy salmon and Philadelphia roll. We also ordered some appetizers which were overall decent. I can't say it was the freshest sushi I've ever had, but I appreciate the staff and access to poke here locally in Gilroy which I will definitely have to try next.
