Pure Nail Salon

Pure nail is still one of thee best nail salons. They stopped taking reservations sometime after Covid so often there is a little wait. But if you go when they open or during the weekday it's usually little to no wait. All the tech are pretty good!

Service declines with every visit. Don't go to Bubble, she will knick and cut cuticles with drill.

I brought in a reference photo from pure salon's yelp page but asked if I could do two different colors instead of the ones in the original picture-- my nail tech Sherry KNOCKED IT OUT of the park!!!!! She was absolutely incredible. She gave me everything I wanted and more and was an absolute sweetheart. I'm so happy with my visit! All the employees I interacted with were so kind and helpful and they are all extremely talented nail artists

A lot of things in life are not consistent, the 20+ years I've been coming here I'm glad that Jessie is. She's still pleasant, still kind, still professional and she still keeps up with the latest trends. On the rare occasion Jessie's not here, her son Jerry is in charge. He has same demeanor as Jessie and does an excellent job of making sure everything runs smoothly.

I get my nails done here every 2 weeks and the price changes for the EXACT same service every time!

I used to go to Pure Nail yearssss ago before it became as popular as it is today. I stopped going for awhile because I moved away. I recently came back to the neighborhood and starting going again.

The nail art is amazing, still, but the quality just isn't what it used to be. And things could be more sanitary.

For $110 I got a gel mani with a design (the gold French with floral design), which included two small nail repairs and one gelx tip for a nail I'd completely broken. Within two days my nails were already chipping, as if the proper top coat wasn't used. Now, a week later, one of the nails she "repaired" has nearly cracked halfway to the center of my nail, the gelx tip is lifting, and nearly all of them have gel missing on the edges. My sets here used to last 3-4 weeks! Now, not even a week for over $100. With my gel pedi I spent $170. Still cash only.

Pedicures here are still basic. Very little effort is made, but the price is higher than most salons. My gel pedi is holding up though, thankfully.

In terms of sanitizing and cleanliness, they do sanitize tools and use bags in the pedi bowls. However, they don't require customers to wear masks. One woman came in sniffing and wiping her nose with her bare hands and they didn't ask her to wear a mask NOR did they ask her to sanitize or wash her hands before they started doing her nails. They didn't ask anyone to sanitize or wash their hands before, which is quite disgusting. I won't be back anytime soon.

Tldr; The nail art here is always on point and everyone is always friendly. But the quality isn't the same, the prices are higher, it's still cash only, and things could be more sanitary.

Love my girls at Pure. I've been coming here for well over a year and i would never go anywhere again. They genuinely care about your nails and the service provided is almost impossible to find in Brooklyn from my experience. The owner, Jessie is such a sweet and caring woman. She always checks the finished product to make sure her standards are met. I like to do a lot of eclectic designs, and they are always willing to give it a go, even if it's something they've never done before.

My go to girl at Pure is Kelly. She's an amazing nail tech and is also super caring and funny. She speaks English really well and we have really good banter anytime i come by. We even have the same bday haha.

I've recommended this place to soo many people, and most have become regulars. They are closed on Mondays FYI and even during the weekdays they can be pretty busy. The space is small but the girls work efficiently so they are able to have a higher turnover rate then places I've been with less traffic!

I see a lot of newer reviews complaining about price points, which really bothers me because they have there price points listed clearly before u even get started. To justify two star reviews with a complaint regarding the price is abusing this platform. You can tell Jessie exactly what you want and Jessie will tell you a price. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to continue getting serviced, respectfully!

Obsessed with this amazing female-owned nail salon! Hands down (see what I did there?) best designs and nail artists I've seen in BK. Cash only, but there's an ATM in the back. You can't beat the price for this quality.

I have gotten SNS powder here multiple times and it never lasts more than two weeks. Every other salon says that powder should be 3-4 weeks. They also have every single person off the street dip their nails in the same powder pot. That is highly unsanitary and can cause major infections, on top of that they only accept cash. So not only are they beating the system by not paying any fees on cards they refuse to lose a little powder by pouring it into a separate container for each customer to use.

What I really don't understand is why they don't have customers at least sanitize their hands or wash before the dip to get any debris and dirt off of the nails for better hygiene and to keep the powder on longer?!!!

Its s a real shame because it's the most convenient central location in the neighborhood that does designs etc but per the usual they take advantage of the community.

Beautiful gel nail art with efficient service. I originally requested marbling chrome gold on black nails but was informed that they're not able to marble chrome colors. Decided to get white marbled on black with gold glitter accents instead. Overall, I'm satisfied with the design although I feel like the nail artist allowed the white to spread all over the nail on my left index finger when it should've only been at the edge (see photos). Warning that they only accept cash here and have an ATM in the back with a $3.00 transaction fee.
