They also sell the best slippers and carry an extensive assortment of styles and sizes. It's so easy to try on many options and leave with new favorites.

He's very busy, so wait times are longer for repairs than some other places, but it's worth the wait. Just plan that he may need 6 - 7 weeks. And he's super nice. Ask about his grandkids.

Best Kept Secret. Walk into Red Hill cobblers and it is like taking a step when shoes were beautifully made and the store owner, Avo- knows all his customers. Elegance. Pretty and confyB phenomenally soft hand made leather slippers, I visit this remarkable cobbler- again and again.

A wonderful experience with an expert shoe repairman. Avo cares about your shoes and it shows. Brought him a $1,000 pair of riding boots that I wasn't ready to let go of only because one of the zippers broke. He took one look and confidently said he could fix it. Not only did he fix it, but it was a fair price and even quicker turnaround than expected. I saved so much money just trusting him with it instead of having to buy another pair! Thank you Avo!

Please think twice before bringing anything especially precious to you here. This is the bag I have used every day for the last 3 years, and it's now unusable after I picked it up from Red Hill Shoe Repair. It was in need of some repair - broken strap, lining coming undone, small holes in the corners. The repairs felt a little pricey ($170) but I thought it was reasonable if it helped me get another 3 years out of the bag.

I picked it up today after waiting 3 weeks, and it turns out for some god forsaken reason, Avo decided to literally paint over the pattern that was on the bag. This panel was faded but totally fine, and I didn't instruct him to do anything to it. I was surprised to see he even touched it. Not just touched it - he completely ruined it. It looks like a child painted on my leather. The lines aren't even straight and I would be embarrassed to take this bag anywhere nice.

Now I need to order a whole new piece of patterned leather to fix this piece and take it to a different repair shop to clean up the mess that Avo made of it.

I was so ready to write a glowing review of this shop; I stayed and talked with Avo for 45 minutes about his childhood in Lebanon when I dropped it off. He did do a good job fixing other parts of the bag. But this is so hideous and glaring, not to mention uncalled for and out of the scope of what I asked for, that I will never ever be back.

Red Hill Shoe and Repair is that kind of old world craft shop that I wish we had more of. Avo is a true craftsman. He has salvaged so many of our favorite leather garments, shoes, and belts over the years that we don't know what we would do without him.

This neighborhood shop had to move out of our immediate neighborhood to make room for the growing dance studio, but now he's just on the other side of San Anselmo in larger brighter shop, with easy pull-up parking, right in front. If you lost track of him then you must go find him just off Center, at Yolanda Station neighborhood.

Avo is as cheerful and helpful as ever, and there doesn't seem to be anything he can't fix. Today he refurbished my favorite belt! I'm so happy. He has also fixed my computer bag strap, my jacket zipper, and my favorite loafers, just to name a few. Oh, and when he puts a shine on your shoes it's more than just a shine. They're deep conditioned when you get them back, and you'll feel like a million bucks!

He also sells some hard-to-find, and specialty shoes, slippers and sandals as well as devices and accessories for shoes. What he doesn't have he'll order for you to pick up as soon as possible.

I know we're in a disposable culture, but I love having such a dedicated craftsman around to help care for those favorite items, and make them last nearly forever! Thanks, Avo!

I got my Frye boots re-soled here and he did a great job. Also got a great pair of leather/fur slippers. Love to support local businesses just like this one!
