This place is amazing! Healthy fish and corals, good prices, and great selection. You can tell these owners and employees love this business.

I went for the first time yesterday and while the selection is quite good, I could not help but notice the betta fish in horrible shape one was laying against the bottom laboring to breath and the other had such a severe ich all over its body. I left feeling very sad and have thought about it several times since then. I would like to say I would purchase from here but, I would be worried about the health of the other fish in their care.

David was fantastic, found out he only works on Tuesdays, but I do believe it would be most helpful if you go on a Tuesday to talk to him.
Super knowledgeable, kept attending tanks and fish while answering my questions; he listened, asked questions, and provided personal opinion, and did not try just to force me to buy something that was unnecessary or not applicable to my system.
Thank you guys!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Randy B.Mansfield, États-Unis5225 sept. 2023

The customer service here is amazing. Austin took us around explaining absolutely everything about the fresh water plants for our new tank. He was incredibly knowledgeable which was very impressive and ensured us that we were in good hands. The store was busy but that didn't matter as we were not rushed. The beta selection was great. Very affordable. Skip Pet Smart and head down the road to the local fish store. I am so glad we did. Highly recommended.

Let me start off by saying my son and I loved this store! Bought hundreds worth of fish, plants, and fish keep items. They sell plenty of different types of aquatic life and supplies. Improvements are that some of the tanks are obviously under cared of with plenty of belly up dead fish and algae covering all glass. Staff I would think would conduct walk arounds and clear these fish ASAP but they seem unbothered.SOME not all of the staff seem to have little to no sales experience, as they don't approach you and sometimes seem annoyed when you ask for assistance. Owner please get your staff on the floor and interacting with all customers instead of keeping the front door seat warm. I would still suggest this store to anyone getting in to the hobby but we will take my business else where. Happy fish keeping!

Yes we did it, we jumped into the fish tank world. There is a lot to learn, especially if you want to have live plants in your tank. We quickly realized that we were in over our heads. I searched Yelp and I found Rivers to Reefs. We headed to Gahanna on a Tuesday night. We were greeted by David, he spent the next 40 min walking around the store with us and answering all our questions. He was phenomenal! He was patient and full of knowledge. He was able to expand on things we had researched online. We could tell that David knows what he is talking about and he cares about the fish and the craft. He was able to lead us to the correct plants for our betta fish. He advised us on the care of both the fish and the plants for when we got home. He went above and beyond for us that night. He informed us that he only works on Tuesday nights. It is his side gig, one that he happens to be great at! The funny thing is we have been back the next two Tuesdays seeking out David and his advice. He has been a great resource for us. We highly suggest Rivers to Reefs for both the beginner and the experienced. Ask for David, he will take great care of you!

Staff is not knowledgeable at all. I went in looking to get some African Cichlids, specifically Mbuna. I was told that the entire row of all cichlids would be good together. That is just not true. I had to return the fish because they were not good fits at all. When i looked it up, they were completely different types of fish! They sold me Tanganikan Cichlids and told me they would be fine. That's partially on me for not knowing much myself, but i figured i could trust the fish guys! I was so wrong.
There are so many dead fish in all the tanks. Just walk up and down the rows and look... You'll see at least one dead fish in every 2-3 tanks minimum. The poor axolotl they had when i went in looked so miserable... They sold them to a woman while i was there, who said she had a 15 gallon to put them in.... I am partially shocked they sold them to her, but at the same time, i'm not surprised at all.
They clearly don't care about their fish at all. Tanks are disgustingly dirty and like i said, several dead fish in multiple multiple tanks.
I would give this place 0 stars if i could. If you're looking for fish, go to Aquarium Adventure. They are extremely more knowledgeable and have much healthier fish. I haven't seen a single dead fish in any tanks, versus seeing at least 15 in ONE TRIP to Rivers to Reefs.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
