It's not Sichuan food by no means
Soup sucks
Everything else just like American Chinese foodHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 4 avr. 2022
I drove past this place a 1000 times over the years in a strip mall in Orangvale. I'm so glad I finally decided to go here. It was only a last minute thing to get soup for my mom.
It was during covid so I ordered from the car and waited. Why I waited I watched 10 people go in and leave with bags of food.
Well.... that's a awesome sign!
The hot n sour soup is delicious and the staff so gracious.
I've been back for the pork egg foo young..gravy awesome.
Again...tons of locals coming out with bags.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Chris M.CA, États-Unis022195 avr. 2023
New Ownership! AND PRICES INCREASED 30% across the board.
Lunch specials now $12. Sorry to see another Mom-n-Pop go away.
Thanks for feeding us through covid.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Reed C.San Francisco, États-Unis0421 avr. 2023
It appears that they have done more than change the restaurant's name, they have changed the food.
This was our ONLY place to go to get oriental food for the last five years. I loved the food. Now they have changed the name to Wei Wei Kitchen and it is dismal. Gone are the food that delighted the palate and replaced is, well I am not sure what to call it, I fed most of out take home to the dogs.
We would be better spending our money at Taco Bell than here. Buyer Beware!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Al S.San Francisco, États-Unis37155179 mai 2023
Lol, so I just called in to place a to-go order at the new Wei Wei Kitchen. As I was saying my order, the employee told me to hang on because another customer just came in. She put the phone down and I could hear the entire conversation on the other end with the other customer in person. Being patient, I held on the line and came on here to read the reviews for this new restaurant. Seeing that all their reviews are absolutely horrible, I just hung up. This place is already so bad I didn't even have to eat their food to give a 1 star review. RIP Sichuan Spice House, WE MISS YOU ALREADY!!!

The place has new owners. It is now called Wei Wei Kitchen. I should say there are new people leasing the building and using the pots and pans. The food is not the same as the old Sichuan Spice House we all loved.
The new owners are friendly and there are now dine-in options.
The food is ok.
Hot and Sour Soup. Full of yummy flavors. Everyone liked it. - 4.5 stars
Pot Stickers - OK. Tasty filling. The stickers didn't stick enough. No brown on the outside at all. 2.5 - 3.0 stars
Spring Rolls - these were good. Nicely browned and fried but not greasy. 4.0 stars.
Curry Shrimp - nice taste, loads of nice fresh vegetables, but the few shrimp we found shrimp that were in the dish were small and overcooked. Needs more shrimp, larger shrimp, and shrimp that are cooked correctly. 2.5 stars (for the veggies)
Fried Rice - Nice taste. Lots of goodies in it. BUT it was kind of oily. 2.5 stars
Tofu with BokChoy and Carrots. - Where are the vegetables? There were a few overcooked pieces of bok choy and maybe two tiny carrot pieces. The tofu was mighty tasty but I missed the veggies. This will be good for left overs. I'll add my own veggies. 3.0 stars
The new folks need to step it up a bit. Going out to eat, or getting take out is expensive these days. I should have just stayed home and made stir fry. I hope the new owners start to think more about what their customers want and expect or they'll end up out of business. They won't need to do much to step it up a bit, but they need to do it soon. I'm not sure I'll go back because there was nothing to wow me.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Brandon H.Orangevale, États-Unis2763624 sept. 2022
$7 lunch special, are you serious? You heard that right. Not only is the food affordable, I also like a lot. Will definitely be coming back to the lunch special and dinner at some other time. I think I found my new Chinese restaurant.

Delicious food, served quickly at a competitive price. Sichuan never fails us when we need a lot of food in a short amount of time. Service is friendly, though I wish they delivered themselves (I believe they use one of the apps to deliver). Food keeps great for leftovers as well. Our favorites include the orange peel chicken and sweet and sour pork.

I have ordered from here 4 times total.. 2 times in November and early December and 2 times in the past week. I wish I would have reviewed the first 2 times because it was 5/5. Maybe it's the holidays but this last week the hot and sour soup is like broth and watery and the sauces for all the dishes are super liquid ish.. ? Just disappointing because my last 2 orders have been over $100

They have lost a star since yhe fu yung issue. This is crazy, chef dependent, on if bean sprouts in fu yung. One uses, other doesn't.
I gotta say, their wor won ton soup is best ever. I also love their salt & pepper shrimp & onions. Don't get me started on their potstickers, either. Yummers. Now I'm just getting hungry. House fried rice is my favorite, while my family is content w pork fried. Go on, you know noe you are hungry. Enjoy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 016 juill. 2020Avis précédentExcellent food. Small store front close to USPO end of Cable Park. Flavors very distinct in SS PORK, and the Orange Beef ( choose your level of spicieness) was the absolute BEST I have ever eaten. All meats were tender. Pork fried rice was just right. My only disappointment was the egg foo yung patty was an omelette w/o any bean sprouts. (Say WHAT???) The veg sauce was Fabulous, but the omelette did not satisfy. Didn't try any appetizers or soup this time but will in future. Over all very good experience & would reccommend.
New review. Funny, we have since ordered the fu young. It DOES come with bean sprouts. They screwed up the first order. It's ALL PRIMO.20 mai 2020Avis précédentExcellent food.
