Skinny Mike's Ice Cream & Shave Ice

While not my favorite Shave Ice in Hawaii (that title is held by Scandys on Kona). Skinny Mikes IS my favorite on Kauai. Skinny Mikes is known in our family as "those huge shave ice bowls"! In addition to amazing shave ice they also have coffee and scoop ice cream making it a one stop shop for families with multiple tastes.

For me, shave ice begins with the shave and then must have a wide assortment of flavors both Hawaiian and traditional. You can add a scoop of any flavor ice cream for $2.50 and a snow cap of condensed milk which is a non-negotiable.

At the End of the Day we have never been to Kauai that didn't involve a stop at Skinny Mike's and we never will. Also like much of Kauai there is a shortage of workers and staff so please be patient and understanding when there is a huge line and two people working. Don't be those tourists!

tl;dr: shave ice syrup tasted artificial

The 2 of us got an order of the shave ice to share. You can pick 3 flavors, and we also added a scoop of macadamia nut ice cream and a snow cap (a sweet drizzle, I think it's condensed milk?) -- overall good but the shave ice flavor syrup was more artificial tasting than at other shave ice shops that we've had throughout Kauai.

Was in the mood for shave ice and this shop happened to be open when we were in the area. The staff were nice and the location was very clean and convenient from the parking lot. We overall had a pleasant time here.

Great service, really busy after dinner time. I'm a little upset that coffee just tasted like vanilla. Didn't have much coffee flavor at all. Maybe I got a bad scoop but just a heads up if you like coffee Icecream this is not it!!

The service was delightful and she was patient and friendly and made one beautiful banana split. The place was charming. we would definitely return.

It's hard not to love ice cream, but this location has some unique selections. My son had the Cookie Monster & loved it. Nice spot in the shopping center & super close to the beach on Lihue bay. Highly recommend!

So good that we came back for seconds on our vacation. Friendly service and a nice spot to sit and eat. Pricey but tasty, thanks again.

Named Skinny Mikes is misleading. This place offers a wonderful variety of ice cream, desserts, and shave ice.
Conveniently located near the Marriotts Vacation Club resort. Easy to walk to when craving a delicious shave ice. My favorite feature of the shave ice is the generous scoop of macadamia nut ice cream. The staff very welcoming and friendly. The interior is nicely decorated. A few tables, chairs, and a comfortable bench available to enjoy each treat. A daily visit a must.

There was a long line yet only 2 young ladies handling everything. We got a shave ice which was ok, but we've had better in Oahu.

Parking here is a bit of a pill. The lot was small and packed! Glad we stuck it out and persevered!

There was only one girl working by herself but she was steady and hardworking! She got that place handled all by herself!

Not fast but completely understandable! Our server was awesome! Still had a good attitude even though I can't imagine she gets many breaks bc that place was busy!

Having had shave ice the other day we went with the icecream! I got macadamia nut and ube flavors, yum!! My son got cookies and cream and my hubs got the affogato with coffee icecream and this was killer!
