Very Delicious but a little dry but the sauce made up for that - 9 avr. 2022
Ordered a shrimp poor boy, it is not a traditional poor boy, but I figured that I would like it. Unpalatable. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy it. 2/5 stars.
Ordered a beer from the tap, Hefeweizen. Beer was good. Serving size was on the smaller end, was hoping for a pint sized serving. 5/5 stars.
Ordered a peach cobbler, that was really really good, enough to bump the unpalatable shrimp poor boy up from 1/5 stars to 2/5 stars, and the cobbler up from 4/5 stars to 5/5 stars. Maybe this is not how a good rating system should work, but until Yelp sets a standard, I'm going to rate as I see fit. Cheers.
Saw some folks eagerly munching down on a rib platter, will definitely try some ribs next time.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 22 avr. 2022
3.5 stars.
Got the 1.3lb brisket with creamy coleslaw and grilled veggies. Everything was seasoned well but it wasn't overwhelming. The brisket was a bit too fatty for my taste. You can choose either mild sauce or spicy sauce. The spicy sauce was not that spicy. But they both taste very vinegary, which was not something I'm used to with bbq sauce. I thought the briskets were flavored well enough that I didn't need the bbq sauce. I suggest getting the sauce on the side. Or just use the sauce at the table(although not COVID friendly).
Service was very good. Friendly attentive service. I liked that they have wipes for your hands at the table. They also have bread at the table if you want to make it into a sandwich.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sparkle K.Los Angeles, États-Unis95212820 mars 2022
The pandemic gives me pause in writing restaurant reviews because they are already suffering but this place missed the mark. I ordered from Uber Eats as this place has been bookmarked forever and I got the burnt ends, brisket, mac & cheese with coleslaw.
Pro-tip: get your sauce on the side and taste it first. The sauce was thin and tasted strongly of cloves. Like a strange chai tea bbq sauce. I would love it if they tried their hand at making another sauce for a LTO and check customer feedback. It may help things.
The meat itself was tender thankfully since I could cut through it with the plastic utensils. The cole slaw was unique. While creamy, it was closer to savory than what most of us are used to. Didn't love it or hate it, I'll be using it on a spicy sausage I have in the fridge tomorrow. The macaroni and cheese was good was also creamy and had a couple of cheese pulls on a few of the bites.
The two slices of white bread was a cute touch and the Hank's vanilla cream soda is always a winner.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Peter S.Altadena, États-Unis010529 avr. 2023Avis mis à jour
They have unfortunately closed. I had just discovered them. Very sad. I really enjoyed this restaurant. It was a perfect place to go before a Dodger Game.

RIP to the best BBQ and BBQ place in LA.
This feels like losing a friend.
Stumbled onto it on a motorcycle wandering trip because of the smell and came back countless times.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 2 - Jillian C.Los Angeles, États-Unis7588516 mai 2022
Stumbled upon this spot since my boyfriend had a bbq craving and this happened to be nearby. Very glad we found it because this place offers friendly and fast service (food was served in less than 15 mins!) along with tender and flavorful meats. The Hot Pig Sandwich was my favorite; it has two meats - pulled pork and hot link - encased in a flavorful sandwich that is spicy and texturally diverse with the fried onion strips and jalapeños. The burnt ends dish was tender and came with 2 sides - we went with a creamy Mac n cheese and a moist cornbread with butter. Will return to try more!

Most BBQ places in LA describe themselves as 'Authentic Texan BBQ'. But that is pretty generous and ultimately INCORRECT.
I really thought this would be the 1st BBQ place that correctly labeled themselves 'authentic texas BBQ'. Why?
Most Texas BBQ have historically offered freebies of bread, pickles, and onions. Spring Street Smokehouse is literally the 1st BBQ place to offer these, so that was a really, really good sign....
Until I sank my teeth into those pork ribs.
I ordered the platter with 6 pork ribs. Sides of potato salad and pit beans.
The 6 pork ribs needed a lot of help with the sweet sauce (which I was actually quite fond of). However, they gave me 3 ribs which were completely inedible. They were tough, gristly and smaller compared to the rest. They also lacked any flavor of smokiness whatsoever. Kinda strange, when 'smokehouse' is literally in your name.
Thankfully, I requested additional sauce otherwise this meal would have been a total bust. The sauce is actually quite nice, but is on the sweeter side of bbq sauces. Kinda reminds me of the sauce at RIBS USA in Burbank.
And those ribs too are not Smoked as they do in Texas.
The sides were actually pretty okay. But honestly, I wish the ribs were better.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Christma M.CA, États-Unis0317 mai 2022
We were ready to look for a spot to eat and right before we could even start the smell from the restaurant hit us and we didn't need to look anywhere else. Everything was delicious ! Highly recommend and the service was amazing!
