Umami Ramen

I went to this place for the first time and it was soooooo good. I will definitely be coming here again to try some other foods.

2024 UPDATE
Loss a star. I alway base my ratings upon value. Value=[Quality/Cost]. Even though there was a small slip in quality from very little chicken inclusion, it still was very tasty. The issue came from the reduced quantity and increased cost. This $10 bowl end up costing over $17 without tip. See pictures.

Good but $$.! Loved the food, but the expense of adding all to your bowl was a definite sticker shock at register. $53 for two bowls was a bit much for our eating out budget. We will not be returning. Will use $ to buy my own ingredients for ramen and make it at home for the whole family for what the cost of two bowls here.

For those want to try this restaurant, this is not a ramen shop, nor Japanese neither. More like Asian fusion noddle shop. They have pho stock, miso, shoyu soup, curry and others soup base. Also stir fry noddles, buns and wings. Menu is very diverse and they look good and taste good.
Noodles bowl you pick your own ingredients. It can be pricey if you all more main ingredients like beef or mushrooms. Yes they charge like $3 for mushrooms.
Their soup seems like they make their own and not premade somewhere or heavy on msg. You can actually drink. One of the reason it is more pricey then your typical Japanese restaurant.
It is one of the best restaurant if not the best in this little town.
Parking on the street is free by the way and usually plenty of space during week day

Went to Umani Ramen with high expectations on my birthday. Disappointed with the Ramen the noodles were clucked together and the food overall was average. They also had run out of the mochi we ordered. Will give it couple of more months for operations to stabilize before I come again.

Unfortunately, I came here wanting to eat something similar to ramen. I'd looked at the reviews, so I knew it was more of a general noodle place, but people seem to think the noodles here taste good? Confused about the frequency of this take on Yelp.

Would probably be fine if I had not eaten even slightly decent ramen or pho before, but their buffet style noodles and broth did not taste very good. Flavor overall disappointing.

Having had previous positive noodle experiences, mostly where I've grown up in CA, eating here on a Saturday last August upset me. I had to immediately drive to Kalamazoo afterwards to have some decent Japanese food so my day would not be ruined.

The cafeteria-like mix-n-match fusion noodle concept is an interesting idea. I can see this place appeals to kids, as there were many there the day I tried this place.

Best healthy fast food ever. Great service and the food is amazing. I have not had a bad meal here.

Hands down, this is my go to lunch spot when I am in town. What a treasure for Battle Creek to have. The service is always very friendly and attentive. The food menu is pretty great too.

I did not like the food here but I do know a lot of others do so I think it's more of a preference than bad food.

So delicious! Great for vegans. It's like a subway style ramen place. Very good vibes
