Does anyone have any DIRECT contact numbers for a VP at USAA in San Antonio?

      A:

Forget it! I can see why an exec with USAA would not want to be contacted direct. As a member since 1981, I have watched USAA fall to a below par insurance company. Their rates used to be untouchable, now they are 30% or more higher than… more

My dad had USAA from the 50s. I have been on it (both under my dad as a teen and on my own as an adult) for 40 years now, and would not want any other insurance. They always take good care of me, and go the extra mile.

I have been with USAAdor YEARS!
In August 2023, I departed from USAA insurance for home and auto. Not only did the cost increase dramatically, but the customer service decreased even more.
Now I am leaving the banking, side checking and savings. The customer service has decreased so much, I am embraced for them.
Go with Navy Fed or Pentagon Credit Union, stay away from all things USAA

If I could rate USAA negative stars, I would. My husband & I were in a car accident where the other party ran a red light & I would go through it all over again to never have to deal with this company again.

They sent payments to wrong places, their recommended body shop took 2+ months to return our vehicle & it wasn't even fixed, yet they won't cover to send it anywhere else. & if you want to get ahold of anyone about issues such as these? Good luck! We leave messages for these people every day & have gone multiple weeks without them answering. Forget them actually calling back.

If you have USAA, do yourself a favor & get out before they have a chance to make your life a living hell.

I was rear-end on Christmas eve of 2019 due to covid, we delayed repairing until recently. I made all the arrangements and took my car in on December 4th. Unfortunately, my rental wasn't ready, and I had issues trying to pick one up due to my work schedule. After a week and a half of trying to figure this out (USAA had stopped answering my calls), I finally got a rental. Unfortunately, USAA continued to ignore not only my calls and messages but also the shops that had already started disassembling my car. This prolonged my would-be 3 day repair by 2 months. I called the adjuster and left messages daily with no response, and when my cap ran out on the rental, I tried to reach them about what to do about the rental since it started incurring charges exceeding the coverage. I got a hold of a customer care rep who told me, "If we the shop and I could provide proof via a timeline, USAA would reimburse since the delay was 100% their fault." This is corroborated by the timeline provided by the shop to USAA and would be the last time I heard from them until today. after nearly 2 months I finally got a phone call from USAA saying they won't pay because I "should have returned the rental and had the shop put my vehicle back together and drive it around until USAA DECIDED to answer the phone". To do this would have cost additional labor hours, and the added logistics of rescheduling a new appointment and a new rental (out of my own pocket) around the event that USAA may or may not answer their phone. I want USAA held accountable for their gross negligence and the subsequent addition cost ($870.10) incurred by said negligence. Today is March 4th, and the adjuster has still not returned a single call.

This is in no way to treat disabled veterans, yet it seems to be common practice for USAA.

The absolute worst option in insurance. They will wriggle out of covering anything for you. Avoid at all costs, otherwise get ready for surprise $500-$1000 deductibles right after they tell you're covered. Their customer service is also scum of the earth, and they will literally hang up on you when you try to get transferred to an insurance rep. If you do get in touch with a rep, they will know absolutely nothing about your policy/coverage. And they will be rude, unapologetic, and they will stonewall you until you give up. They will drain your bank account and basically tell you to pound sand.

My car, 2003 Mercedes Benz SL500, was towed March 19, 2024 from the parking lot at the apartment building in Orlando, FL. The towing of the vehicle was not in accordance with FL statues. I informed my insurer, USAA. Since the Tow Company nor the apartment would respond to my request for restitution, I filed a claim with USAA.

USAA sent me an estimate and a check for approximately $900. USAA then instructed me to take the car to Crash Champions in Longwood, FL to have the repairs made. USAA advised me that the adjuster would send the estimate to the shop and deal directly with them. I would be responsible for the $500 deductible.

Approximately 1 week later, I was informed by USAA the car would be assessed as a total lost. The repair estimate by Crash Champions was approximately $12,000. USAA also advised me that the value of my car is approximately $6500. USAA came to that value by contrast of my vehicle against another 2003 MB SL500 and a 2004 SL500. My 2003 SL500 was customized with AMG Wheels, spoilers and options not available on their vehicles. After going back and forth with the USAA adjuster and her manager they made some minor adjustments but refused to accept the major error which devalued my vehicle by several thousand dollars.

USAA stipulated that the 2004 SL500 did not come with Hydraulic Suspension as standard equipment, it was an option. Therefore, since my vehicle had Hydraulic Suspension as standard my car's value would be considerably less. I immediately contacted Mercedes Benz USA, who ran the data card for that vehicle's VIN and they confirmed that it is in fact standard.

I provided USAA the MB USA information so they could verify as well as the owner's manual for 2004 SL500, which also indicated the Hydraulic Suspension is standard. I even sent the USAA adjust the report of two other 2003 SL500 vehicles that sold at auction In April 2024, for approximately $13 and $15000. I provided several iterations of changes to their list of options which they did not credit my vehicle against the 2004 vehicle used, to depreciate the value of my 2003 SL500. USAA refused to accurately assess the value of my vehicle considering the Hydraulic Suspension as standard on the 2004 model.

USAA further refused to process my claim unless I signed a power of attorney to release the vehicle to them so they can seize it. I was told by the adjuster that I don't have any option as USAA was going to report to the DMV that the vehicle is a total loss, and therefore it will have a salvage title. After approximately two weeks of back and forth I relented, as I was being extorted by USAA and had no choice. Also, I did not want to let the car sit at the shop and eventually start accruing storage fees.

On Monday, April 29th, I got a call from Crash Champion, auto repair, and was told USAA has authorized to repair the vehicle. I was shocked, and contacted the shop today May 1st, but only got conflicting information.

I feel violated, ripped off and abused by this company. I thought USAA was honest and reliable. They cheated me out of a car I kept up for over 20 years, and it seems something is under handed and not correct what they did. I want some answers and the correct and fair reimbursement.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS COMPANY? WHERE IS THE HONESTY, AND INTEGRITY THIS IS A MINUS STAR

I had good insurance prior to USAA but it changed dramatically after I fled from Commifornia, so I decided to go with USAA. When I got their quote I asked if it was an introductory rate. They said "no, it will be your rate unless you have an at fault accident or moving violation". So far my policy has increased everytime my policy renews. We have no accidents or moving violations.
This is USAA raising everyone's rates due to the huge lawsuit they lost, on the banking side of the company and more and more people leaving this insurance company because of the constant increases. They have even went into our policy and changed our annually estimated miles to over double of what we had so they could increase our rates, with out telling us.
Our homeowners insurance increased as well
I will be looking for a new insurance company.

      Avis mis à jour

I have USAA Auto Insurance. I would agree with most of these reviews, but recently I was the possible victim of an auto insurance scam. Someone said I hit their car, and left very minor damage. USAA immediately told me they would handle the case. I talked to USAA, and told them I had no idea what they're talking about. I didn't hit anyone, and there's no damage to my vehicle. I talked to case managers for both sides, and submitted photos. USAA took my side, and refused to pay. The other insurance co said the damage was very minor, and doesn't even warrant a claim. But a claim was made, so they had to investigate. USAA listened to me, and it all made sense.

Thanks for the help in this matter.

I have been a member of USAA since 1979. I am sorry to say that USAA's once outstanding service has cratered due to DEI hiring practices. Most of the customer service reps cannot effectively communicate. They are hard to understand and their knowledge of products and services are poor. They need to turn things around. Also they could save money if they did not hire Rob Gronkowski, who isn't even eligible to apply and use USAA services.

Leaving one star strictly because I have to.

Was struck by USAA insured driver 02/02. Didn't receive any thorough response until 02/15, at which point I was told they would accept responsibility. I was given a 'peer' associate's number (Suzannne) to set things up with.
Upon establishing contact with Suzanne, I immediately took note of her astoundingly disrespectful and unpleasant demeanor and tone. S after bickering with this feral adjuster about whether or not my damaged vehicle was drivable, I received an email and a very snide and unprofessional, "have a nice day" before being disconnected.

I attempted that day to immediately contact any supervisor to file a complaint about this woman, and after hours of searching I found a nice dude who was totally honest that nobody would care about the complaint.... I do find it atrocious that a company that claims to back service members and their families lacks the ability to be professional, or actually have a heart a service.... Checks out, though. Sullying the name of service and using "veterans services" to garner attention without providing quality work.

Today, 02/16, I was contacted by Elizabeth Courtney, my adjuster. Up until today, she was lovely, kind, and helpful. She's stated I could go to a collision center AND get a rental. I literally thanked God for her after getting off the phone. Fast forward to the collision center..... I contact enterprise rentals for my wife's rental, and they inform me I've been approved for a small sedan. Frustrated, because we drive a Lexus rx 350, I call Elizabeth, my savior. What does miss Courtney do? She tells me that's not true, she tells me she approved me for a standard sedan. She also states that our car is a sedan. She says she looks it up on the internet and it's a sedan, and my pictures show a sedan. (Look below for Lexus' description of the vehicle. It's an SUV, but far be it from me to know my own car.)

As of this moment, I'm still waiting for her supervisor, but nothing will happen. Driver beware, this company is a farce. They claim to hold the core values of service and the spirit of veterans and active duty members at their center. They DO NOT. They used slogans and marketing and rode the coat tails of service members to deceive drivers into insurance. No wonder they have an F rating and 1.9 stars. Shame on them for lying, cheating and deceiving people. Hopefully this company can assist Ms Courtney and Ms Suzanne to the unemployment office.

Does that say SUV or sedan?
