Sticking with my four stars here, but I wanted to update my review. There's been a definite influx of people with the New Year, but it's nothing compared to this time last year. I've yet to have an experience where I just leave because I either can't find a parking space or get into the gym and find no free cardio machines.
-Parking is still atrocious, but I've only had to drive around the parking lot not finding a space once so far.
-The class schedule has been reduced quite a bit, but they've gotten some new instructors that I really like. The classes are also relatively small (Saturday morning yoga with Scott and Thursday evening spin with Fred.)
-My trainer Jillian is still awesome.
-The staff is still super friendly. They always smile and greet me. I don't get the condescending, stuck up vibe from anyone here like I have at other gyms/ locations in the past.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 016 août 2012Avis précédentI've been a member of this particular location since it opened, and I've pretty much developed a love hate with it.
First up, the hate:
-While the location itself is extremely convenient for me (aka located between my hosue and my boyfriends and the closest gym to his house/ my future residence,) it can be extremely difficult to get in and out of during peak traffic hours. Trying to make lefts on and off of Cicero can be rough.
-Parking is absolutely horrendous. The lot is FAR too small. They do offer free valet, but I hate valeting my car. I just have issues with other people being behind the wheel of my car, and I shouldn't HAVE to valet my car at the freaking gym. I was parking in the giant, usually 90% empty Menard's parking lot behind the building until they put up signs about towing cars.
- The location is small (it's an X-Sport Express location) which means weight for machines during peak hours/ times of the year. Had I written this review back in February or March, it would have been MUCH more negative. I actually quit going for several month because trips to the gym weren't worth the frustration I expereienced trying to park and find a cardio machine.
- The fact that you don't get much say in your personal trainer. This is common at chain gyms so it didn't come as a surprise, but the first trainer that was "assigned" to me, Chris, was a complete waste of my time. He didn't listen to anything I told him with regard to my goals and what I was looking to get out of our sessions. Hey buddy, I'm paying you, could you at least pretend to pay attention?
And a much more positive note, the love:
- The location is extremely conveient for me.
- The space is gorgeous and modern, and while is it a small space, I feel like they use it well. There's enough machines that I've never had to wait for machines (other than cardio machines during peak times), but I also don't feel like I'm working out on top of the person next to me.
- The price is right. You can't beat $20 a month, including group fitness classes.
- The equipment is great. It's all new and high quality. Any they have a Spin bikes out on the cardio floor. Since spin is my cardio of choice if I'm not out running, this makes me very happy.
- My personal trainer Jillian. She is absolutely awesome. She actually listens to me. She's extremely encouraging and is really good at pushing and challenging you without being aggressive about it.
- Phoebe who teaches the Sunday morning spin class. She is the reason I now love spinning.
- The staff is (usually) pretty helpful and friendly. I was a member at the Chicago Ridge location a few years ago, and I always found the staff there kind of obnoxious. These gyms are already known for being extremely gross, smelling horrible, having garbage all over the locker room, broken equipment, etc. however I always put up with it due to them being the only 24/7 gym with a sauna and steam room. I went to this gym everyday for years paying much more than I should've as a loyal gym member here, even suggesting it to friends based solely on the steam room. (Sauna is usually broken) and was back home visiting family this past weekend when I tried getting a 7 day pass to use while in town. The manager said they don't give 7 day passes to former members (understandable) but for the amount of money I've put into this business I was shocked they couldn't just hook a brotha up for a few work outs. That's what the fitness industry is all about right? It just shows these meat heads only care about upping their sales, and when it comes to anyone but themselves making money they couldn't care less. Instead I paid $20 for a day pass at the shitty crestwood one for a 90 minute work out. After all these years of being member here I haven't made one bad review, but this just did it for me. I'll never sign up at that shit hole gym again.

Disgustingly filthy and unmaintained...
I went to check this location out on a guest pass and after entering the locker room with broken locker doors and sweat and grime saturated carpet that smells and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years, I almost went back to the car to leave my gym bag.
I pushed through and tried to get a workout in...
Most of the machines are missing a grip on one side, the pads are almost all worn/torn through to the wood bases, sweat stained seats and head rests everywhere, and the cable machines were poorly adjusted so there's WAY too much slack which kills the available range of motion. (Lat pull down bars were sitting barely above your head so they're basically useless)
Steer clear guys... Just super grimey/dirty and in need of a major overhaul and cleaning.

Sad to see people review this gym and say so many harsh things about it... it's not even dirty (unless your a karen than ig it is) the gym equipment is "used" yes there are used equipment like detachable bars but it's not like they don't have brand new ones u have to open ur eyes to see (karen's are blind ig)
They have a hallway for when your done with your workouts if u have a good plan u can use there message chair tanning beds sauna ext overall i love this gym and im not playing on switching anytime soon unless my coach (works at xsport) tells me so. Oh ya workers are very nice besides 1 guy dudes a complete dickhead sometimes doesn't let people in (you know who you are) i don't even think he does anything but work at the front tbh never seen the guy lift a weight or do cardio (i got 5 days a week sometimes i'll even go on a rest day for the fun of it)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Information sur le responsable du commerce

I got training sessions while having the child play area open and now that they're closed with no update on a date they will open back up. This has really messed up my training but very thankful for Alec for going above and beyond regardless . Unfortunately I'm being told I can't get a refund even though they aren't providing childcare .

Wow! I've been to a few Xsport gyms ( Norridge, Lyons, South Loop, Brickyard), I workout by the gym that's closest to me at any given time since I keep my gym bag with me almost all the time because I never know how traffic is going to be to get to my home gym so I go to the nearest gym to where I'm at instead. So this gym I almost didn't go inside because it was an express gym and I really don't know what that meant I thought It meant no shower and I want a shower after my workout. I was contemplating on heading over to Chicago Ridge but good thing I stayed. This gym was clean and didn't smell like the other gyms, it smelled fresh verses sweaty people smell , it's a gym so I expect the sweaty people smell not fresh smell, so plus for sure. There was 1 shower & 1 handicap shower and wow were they both sparkling clean almost brand new looking compared to all the other showers in the other gyms that are usually pretty dirty and a lot gross, thank goodness for flip flops gods tho , another plus. The equipment was abundant and easy to fine, another plus. So needless to say I'm going to say something that has never came from me about an Xsport gym, I LOVED this gym! And they have the same drinks and other items for purchase at this location. The staff was pleasant but I usually do not have any issues with the staff, the cleaning crew at the other locations have to do a better job especially in the steam rooms, all the locations steam room smell like mold! This location I am not sure if they had a steam room because I didn't look nor inquire about it. Great job guys, keep up the excellent work at this location. I totally appreciate it! Thank you!

About a year and a half ago I posted a 5 star review. Well now this time it is a 1 star review.
I had a friend with me who works out regularly and was helping me get better at certain exercises, proper form, etc.
Little did we know there was some creepy guy taking pictures of us and video for corporate. Corporate called me complaining that there is NO personal training unless from their staff and that they have video/pictures. (From the weird creepy guy we were noticing.
WTH, first he's a friend, second he's not a personal trainer but a systems admin.
Creeped me the FUDGE out.
Noped out of there, haven't been back and cancelled my membership.

If I can leave 0 stars, I would. Gym sucks. Wanted to cancel my membership Becuase I MOVED out of state and gave me a hard time, I sign the cancelation papers and even took a picture of it and manager said he will handle it, kept calling and just keeps me on hold. This is ridiculous. not only that but this happened back in JUNE and it's almost DECEMBER and I'm still getting charged !!

Carl is the Boxing God! The discipline he teaches is next to none. The Hiit routines are definitely beneficial. Never worked with a trainer that was so organic with the routines. Appreciate the hard work and dedication to everyone!

I figure I'd update my review.
After blasting them on here, corporate wanted to get a hold of me for my issues. So I did e-mail corporate to see what they wanted. After sending them a more detailed message, all they seemed to care about was my contact information and "member tag #." Upon responding to my e-mail, the person mentioned that "I do go to the gym often" and that they will "forward my complaint to the manager of the gym." After that, never heard a peep and absolutely nothing was done or changed.
So I decided to make the jump, cancelled my membership and went elsewhere. In my cancellation letter that was mailed to corporate, I reiterated several points of why I wasn't renewing and why I was canceling/ leaving. The only thing I ever received back, was an e-mail that simply said "we received your letter about not renewing / canceling." Thanks for taking care of those issues, caring about what your members think or even lifting a finger to change anything. XSport Fitness20 nov. 2018Avis précédentThe past few months this location has really gone downhill. The equipment isn't maintained very well and the night staff are mostly useless. Whenever there is a good night employee, they cycle out rather quick. Anyway, the place is almost always a disaster. Weights everywhere, empty bottles, old paper towels on the floor, etc. The garbage can in the men's locker room is always overflowing. Tonight, I drew the line when I walked into the workout studio and there was a pair of Under Armor UNDERWEAR on the floor. Why or HOW is there underwear in the workout studio?
The other night there were two or three people working out and there was one employee. Not only was the garbage can over flowing in the men's locker room, I counted (24) lockers with locks on them and that wasn't counting the lockers on the main floor where "valuables" can be stored. I've mentioned this in emails and no one cares.
Another gripe of mine. I pay for a power pass which means I can go to most locations and bring guests. I'm also a night shift guy so I mainly workout on my nights off. XSport randomly decided to change their policy and don't allow guests to enter after 9pm. A few months ago they also changed their policy and don't allow you to use any spa services like tanning, hydro massage, etc after 9pm. They don't have classes typically after 7pm. Makes me wonder why I'm even paying for the membership that I have if I can't utilize guests, spa services, classes, etc. I still have yet to get a reasonable explanation why XSport decided to sporadically change their policies...
They send out surveys every few months via email and they just don't seem to read them or care.
If the staff actually up kept the place, it would be better. More gyms have opened up in the area, 24hr ones too... Might be time to start shopping around.
