Mason's Grill

Delicious food, great service! I'll be back! The wait time was surprisingly short considering how busy they were. Owner checked in to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Love this place.

The first time I tried Masons grill I was highly disappointed and swore I'd never go here again. My sister was in town visiting and she picked Masons.

The meal this time greatly changed my opinion. We were sat fairly quickly and out server was very attentive. I ordered the Honey Jalapeño Wings and my sister had spinach dip.
This was the second time I was trying these wings and this time it got me hooked. Those wings are so DAMN good! I couldn't even get a good picture of them..Fried perfectly and the wings are a nice sized and meaty. I will forever eat these wings now.

The chopped steak was okay. The wings honestly stole the show.

They are remodeling and had a nice bar area. Can't wait to see what it looks like when everything is finished.

I really can't believe that I let myself live In BR for 7 years and not make it of importance to try this gem out.
First off, how do you beat the weekly specials, deals, and prices?! I MEAN, with inflation becoming a huge issue, family and friends can't pull off weekly dates anymore without breaking the bank! BUT NOT AT MASONS


Food : if you're looking for comfort food on a budget, this place is great. Masons grill can even be an everyday lunch break! It's just that affordable and great. OMG and the DRINKY DRINKIE deals are so great.


Service : our waitress was amazing. She checked on us without annoying us too much. She made sure our alcoholic beverages were filled.


Ambiance : felt like a hole in the wall chill bar and grill.
Kids specials are even great!
Also, weekends mimosas special is a must apparently. However, I hear it is an incredibly long wait if you don't get there early .

I think I've just found my new every week spot!

My boyfriend and I went for restaurant week. At around 5:00pm and it was nearly empty, when we got out of the car I already had a bad feeling about this place but was excited to give it a try none the less. We ordered the boudin balls, shrimp burger, and bread pudding as well as a cheesecake.

The boudin balls were bland and flavorless. My boyfriend didn't even want them he said it tasted like tuna and I was totally disappointed but ate them anyway. The burger was perfectly fine..it was a fine burger nothing to rave about...had not lettuce or tomato but was very cheesy which was wonderful. Everything seemed to be going fine it was mediocre food that wasn't worth the price...but that's what happens sometimes. We already decided that we wouldn't return but we really decided not to return when I did not like the bread pudding that was also plain and merely tasted like loaf bread with maple syrup dribbled on top. I returned it and the manager or owner came out and seemed pretty annoyed by me sending it back (I only took a tiny bite out of it). He offered no real hospitality and I was truly ready to leave, they switched out my dessert but the kindness just wasn't there and I didn't even show any signs of being hostile. :/ not going back.

Brunch was okay. Potatoes were good. Chicken and waffles was unexceptionable but solid. But I'd recommend getting other things instead even if you love chicken and waffles like I do. Cold brew coffee was good. Waiter was nice but overworked and hardly ever checked on us. I eventually had to leave the table to get my own hot sauce after waiting for ten minutes. Ambiance was okay, but could have been a lot better. Overall not as great as I was hoping.

Service was excellent and food was delicious. Had several out of town guests with us and three of them got the chicken & waffles and loved it. One got the crawfish omelette and said it was one of the best he'd ever had. Our drinks were refilled without having to ask. Our guests were definitely impressed.

It's been a minute since I've been to Mason's but tonight was a good experience. There was one time in the past that the experience was not good at all and I think that's what keeps me shy of 5 stars right now. I'm waiting to be blown away.

Tonight was really good. Met with someone for a dinner meeting. The restaurant was really busy and on that note maybe a tad bit noisy but it's good to see it being well-patronized. In the times I have been I've almost always run into a friend or two.

As for the food--my friend ordered the boudin-stuffed onion rings and I tasted it. It was not as "stuffed" or as "fat" as what was shown on the menu but it was quite tasty. Order that and a side and you've got a good meal, I think. I would order it again. She had a build-your-own burger which she had sandwiched between two grilled cheeses and she seemed to really enjoy it. The side of sweet potato fries looked quite appetizing.

I had the spinach and chicken quesadilla. It was well-filled with what tasted like a hot spinach dip, chicken and mushrooms. It really was better than I had expected it to be, and I definitely would order that again, as well.

We both ordered dessert. She enjoyed traditional chocolate on chocolate cake and I had the cheesecake. The cheesecake was quite different, and not in a bad way. The texture of the cheesecake was whipped and fluffy--not dense at all as is more customary of a traditional cheesecake. It also has a delicious crust with pecans and it had a praline-esque flavor to it. I am glad that sauce was not offered because I think it would have taken away from experiencing the flavors of the cheesecake, which had notes of vanilla bean. Let me not forget to mention that it was served in a square and not your usual triangular slice. The portion size was also not overwhelming. It says "limited availability" for the cheesecake on the menu which makes me think it may really be homemade, and not a lot of restaurants like this make homemade desserts.

Finally, I think the overall value of the food is great. The menu is broad, which typically does not translate to great food, but that's not the case here. Next time I hope to have that 5-star experience I remember from when we brought the kids years back.

Idk this is just not the place for me I guess. It's a great vibe and everyone seems to love it. I haven't had a good meal there yet. The people are so sweet and friendly. I tried the tilapia with grilled shrimp and sweet potato fries. The tilapia was well seasoned but the shrimp didn't look like they were grilled long enough. The fries were definitely fried for too long in grease that had other parts of something in them. I couldn't even eat a third of my entire lunch. Not sure after all these years I'm going to give them another try. So sad considering this is a hot spot around here and I really wanted to like it.

The food here was delicious. We went here for lunch and the service was pretty warm but somewhat robotic which did not matter because the food here was awesome.

The boudin stuff onion rings were honestly great, it was so good that we negated the fact that there was an inedible part of the onion in the ring.

The etouffee and poboy was delicious and perfectly prepared. A very good experience overall.

I haven't been here in a while. This is an older review. The wings were good for the price on 50 cent wing Thursday's. I did come here and got chicken and waffles and that was actually pretty good and worth it too.

The wings all taste pretty good and for 50 cents at that time, it was way worth it. There really wasn't a lot of flavors for wings but it was okay. The service was good but it was kind of slow for the day. I think it was because of the wing special. When I came back later for the chicken and waffles, it was much better. The ambiance was okay. It's like a giant bar. It's hard to hear in it but there are plenty of TVs to view.

Overall, I think I need to go back again. I think people should try it and see. It was good back in the day and if they have these deals then it may be worth it to revisit again.
