L'avis 4 étoiles de Kelly
Only been open 3 weeks, so I'm sure that they are getting everything together and I always take that into consideration when reviewing brand new places.
FOOD: Great varied menu with your choice of 1/3 or 1/4 lb burgers, chicken, hot dogs and salad. I started with the San Diego Burger since it has avocados. After looking at the pictures again, I saw that I didn't get the lime. I suppose they are still working on the details. I agree w/ previous reviews that the "ice cream scoop" avocado was not appetizing -- I spread it out with a fork. Also there was a crazy amount of cilantro that I took about 2/3 of it off. The torta roll was nice and fluffy without being too dense. Many choices of fries -- all are on the side & sold separately (but cheaper w/ a burger). I got the veggie frites and they were okay, not great -- a smaller portion than I expected. Next time I want to try the Haystack onions since they looked really good. The sweet potato fries look good too! My BF got the BBQ bacon & cheese burger and it was great. He's picky about his BBQ sauce and really liked theirs. The egg bun was really good. The smashfries were a bit over-seasoned for our tastes -- the ones at the bottom were really soaked in oil and had too much of the rosemary and garlic. I like that they have wine & beer on the menu and we will probably order it in the future. Overall a GREAT PRICE for what you are getting!
The restaurant is fairly small (long & narrow) with mostly booths and a few tables. It's similar to newer places (Panera, Corner Bakery, Pat & Oscars, etc.) where you order first in line, take a number for your table and then they bring you the food (which means less tipping for the wait staff). It's not the best ambiance and not really a "date" place, but great for when you want to have a quick meal and be able to sit down and relax. Not crowded at all on this particular Friday night at 8:30pm. Easy to find this place since it's right next to The Living Room and has good signage. Parking is all on the street, but there's a good amount down by the Cove and you can walk up and down the hill to get some exercise!
More locations will be opening this year in Del Mar and San Diego!
