RPM Steak has a classy, modern, urban vibe. The service was stellar: right away we were greeted by our server and given a detailed overview of the menu and nightly specials, including helpful hints ("If you fancy an old-fashioned, ours are the best" and "Since there are only two of you, I could get you a half-portion of our delicious seafood platter").
As a former server, I was impressed by the teamwork of the staff. While our waiter certainly was attentive, asking if we needed another round of drinks or if he could get us anything else, if he was attending to other tables, someone else would politely refill our waters or bring us our drinks from the bar, so we never wanted for anything for any significant amount of time.
As for the food, my tastebuds will be tantalizingly haunted by the Thick-Cut Bacon with vanilla bean and bourbon glaze--I think my eyes rolled back in my head with every bite. My husband and I enjoyed the Parker House Rolls made even more delicious with the Rosemary Nordic Butter (must try to figure out how to recreate that magic at home) and split the Dry Aged-Steakburger. At our server's request, we had the kitchen split the burger for us ("You'll get more fries that way," Ray assured us. And he was so right; we took our leftovers home, packed neatly in to-go boxes and placed in a handled bag for easy carry-out.)
The final icing on this wonderful experience was the generous portion of cotton candy floss (berry-flavored on this night) delivered with our bill in addition to a complimentary serving of melt-in-your-mouth donuts with a custard dipping sauce. If we lived closer, we would be regulars! -

My husband and I were in Chicago last week and made a point to get to RPM Steak for lunch. I am so glad we did! We had great food and drinks and would definitely go back again on a future trip! I ordered the Dry-Aged Steakburger which was awesome and subbed in Brussels Sprouts for my side. I liked the sprouts but they were very vinegary so keep that in mind if you order them. My husband had a lunch special of fish and chips (halibut) which was lightly breaded and served with a fresh tartar sauce. We split both meals and enjoyed them! For drinks I had the Spritz and Giggles and he had the Last Call and they were both enjoyable! We had great service and I'd recommend going for lunch as there was ample seating and you don't need a reservation.

I went here over this past weekend and had a really pleasant experience! We originally had a reservation for two at 6pm, but we were easily able to move it back a half hour on OpenTable. When we arrived, we were seated immediately at one of the half circle booths. Our server, Robert, promptly greeted us, and we could tell right away he was really friendly and welcoming.
We order the Parker House Rolls, which were delicious! It was apparent that several other tables also ordered this as well. For dinner, I ordered the 8oz filet. It wasn't the best steak I've ever had, but that's not to say it wasn't cooked to perfection and still absolutely delicious nonetheless. It was definitely a high-quality cut of meat. My boyfriend ordered the dry-aged steakburger, and he was definitely a fan. One of his favorite foods is burgers, and he was raving about this one. His burger came with fries we shared, but we also ordered the crispy hasselback to share. I ordered this based on a raving review I read on Yelp, but it was just okay. The crispy part was SO crispy that it was just downright hard. We definitely could pass on this next time and swap it out for a veggie.
I wish we could say we ordered a dessert, but we were so stuffed, we couldn't even finish our food. Again, the service by Robert was great. Overall, we left as two happy campers! -

I had no idea RPM Steak was a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant nor what RPM stood for (really pricey meat??) until last night. Little did we know that the R is for celebrity couple Bill and Giuliana Rancic, P for chef/partner Doug Psaltis, and I believe M for management. This is the sister restaurant to RPM Italian which is literally around the corner (ok maybe a couple blocks but you know what I mean). The ambiance of RPM Steak is classy but not overly pretentious. We were seated on the second floor which overlooks the first floor with a glass window and this was prime box seating! People watching and dinner, 2 for the price of 1! Service was great; our server was attentive and very accommodating. We had brought a cake since we were celebrating my sister's birthday and were informed that there was a fee to cut the cake ($3 per slice). However our server managed to waive that fee which was a terrific surprise! I know this is a nicer restaurant and it probably looked tacky to bring in our own dessert but yolo (yes, I did just use yolo in a sentence haha).
In true style, my family and I ordered and ate ungodly amounts of food in record time. We had finished appetizers and were onto our entrees within 45 minutes of being seated. Don't judge, we don't waste time when it comes to good food. Survival of the fittest as I like to say!
For appetizers we had the Taleggio Fondue, Chilled West Coast Oysters, Caesar Salad, and Seared Foie Gras.
*Talleggio Fondue - Delicious! Ciabatta bread in a truffle cheese fondue sauce, I highly recommend this.
*Chilled West Coast Oysters - Plump oysters topped with diced jalapeno and cucumber and served with just lemon and limes. This was pretty good as well; the oysters were meaty and not too slimey.
*Caesar Salad - This is your typical Caesar salad with an anchovy deviled egg. Good but nothing special, I would probably pass on this app.
*Seared Foie Gras - If you love, fatty, buttery goodness then you definitely should order this! The foie gras was served on bread with an apple and red onion jam which was a nice complement to the buttery-ness of the foie gras. I like that this foie gras was served warm whereas the foie gras at Paris Club was cold.
Now let's get to the good stuff.... Entrees! I split the "Duke" Ribeye Filet with my sister and for the table we had truffle risotto and Millionaire's Potato. The rest of my family had the Bison Filet, Dry Aged Steakburger with truffle fries, and Truffle Braised Short Ribs. The theme of the night was truffle if you couldn't already tell our obsession with it...I mean who doesn't love truffle?!
*"Duke" Ribeye Filet - We ordered this rare plus and it was cooked perfectly. The ribeye was very tender but did not have much flavor; however it was served with a side of salt which we used.
*Bison Filet - This was the only disappointing dish of the night, it was too gamey and just wasn't very appealing.
*Dry Aged Steakburger - This burger is HUGE and I am not exaggerating. For $18, you definitely get your money's worth! The burger was deliciously juicy and flavorful and was served with cheddar cheese on an onion roll.
*Truffle Braised Short Ribs - My mom ordered this dish and thought it was too salty. When I tried it I thought it was pretty good, the short ribs were pull apart tender and flavored well. I couldn't taste the truffle in this dish but that wasn't a big deal to me.
*Truffle Risotto - This dish is a must! It was a special that was not listed on the menu but if you get a chance to try it, you must. The risotto was cooked perfectly and I hate nothing more than mushy risotto. What's even better is they shave the truffle right in front of you and they were quite generous with the truffle.
*Millionaire's Potato - This potato is twice baked with fontina and you guessed it...BLACK TRUFFLE! This was delicious but I don't know if it was worth $18. The potato was nice and light, smothered in cheese, and topped with truffle. I think I was in heaven.
You thought I was done, didn't you? Nooooope, let's get to dessert. Since we had eaten so much we could barely manage dessert, but if you know me, you know I can never say no to dessert. We ordered the Nutella bread pudding for the table and the family all had a spoonful. This dessert sounded better on paper than it actually tasted. It wasn't bad per se but it didn't impress me. I would suggest skipping this dessert and trying another like the pumpkin soufflé which takes 25 minutes to make (so if you order this, place the order ahead of time during dinner). I highly recommend RPM Steak for the delicious food, service, and atmosphere.
